The blower on the Holden Ute could actually work. I have seen lots of tunnelrams with blowers on top of that on a few street rods in magazines and car shows. Somewere on youtube there is a twin 8-71 supercharged pontiac. the blowers ontop of each other!! Fully functional!!

Those are great looking cars. Can't wait to see them on the screen. I wonder how they will explain in the movie that there was an other BoB. The fist one was bought with the money from Labatouche (remember he didn't enjoy waisting money) to try to keep Max with the MFP. And that one rolled in the second movie. But maybe they bought/build another one. The car was probably in service until the world finally crumbled. After all these years Max finally got back to the deserted city/town with the MFP HQ and finds the second BoB.
Just my 2 cents.

I've always had a problem with the mechanic's "last of the V-8 interceptors" quote from MM2. I mean, how does he know that? He's holed up in a compound in the middle of the Outback! Maybe he personally believes it to be the last one, but it's my belief that he's mistaken.

I always figured the car was Famous somehow.
Perhaps Max was all over the news before the War?
"Rogue MFP Officer steals Pursuit Special and is at large, armed and dangerous"
My theory is that the car was a prototype or something.
Say due to the economic crisis and fuel shortage, V-8 powered cars were getting more & more expensive to own & operate until the primary buyers were Police agencies like the MFP.
These cars eventually became known to the public as "Interceptors"
Eventually, Ford Australia Tried to boost up sales by building a one-off, DOHC V-8 Interceptor.
It didn't save them and they went out of business.
The Main Force bought the car, had the supercharger added and dangled it in front of their best pursuit man who promptly boosted it.
Just a theory.
I've just always had the sense that Barry & Goose were hiding a bit more than just "We got handed lots of money to build"

I always took it that the 'interceptors' were simply a range, like Falcon, Fairlaine, Torana.
So the mechanics quip would be nothing less than saying you got ONE of the last of that model produced.
Yeah, Barry the mechanic added a little extra (like nitro - thats what the switch turns on, not the supercharger) here and there, but it was the top of the range production car - aka A porsche 911.
Movies being movies, I think they'll just ignore what went before, and make it look similiar.
IMHO, So far, the cars look a little silly, too over the top. Like one of those Italian mad max clones in the 80's.
Time to go sniffing around the workshops at Redfern during lunch.

That's my take as well.

Under the right circumstances, the re-introduction of an Interceptor could work well in the movie. For the moment, I'll trust Miller's judgement.

No doubt there's going to be some level of security there. You might be better off rooting through the rubbish bin outside looking for production doodads.

I'm assuming the film will be set between Mad Max and Mad Max II which would explain the inteceptor and rule out Mel for the role.

That would be a big negative. "Cars are cobbled together from parts," Dr Miller said in the interview. In Max 2 this was also the case, but to a much lesser degree. If the interceptor makes a return, which I think would be a foolish step (read my take on all of this initial craziness here ->
Link to maxrockatansky.org writings article) ,it should be a flashback.
