I find it hard to believe he would "lend out" his wives, they were his treasures and mot prized possessions, more likely they were considered "assets" because they were tools to provide a healthy heir, he would not want another man to touch them and put them all in chastity belts.

"Assets" as in not to be harmed in battle. In military situations for example they might also "secure the asset(s)".

Saw it for the 6th time today & noticed something amusing: The People Eater's cuff-links are boobs. You only see them in one shot (I think), when the Bullet Farmer pulls his tank up next to the People Eater in the canyon. Funny little details, I notice more of them every time I watch it.
