This is something I really like about Mad Max, it's not preoccupied with the world situation and it feels more realistic for it.Taipan wrote:It really shows that the dystopian angle was built on top of what Mad Max originally was, it's not predominant, it's always in a passing - you hear about fuel shortages on the radio in the background, as if ad libbed, there's only one scene in particular where they steal fuel from a tanker, the MFP HQ is trashed and that's about as much focus on dystopia as you get with the movie. Everything else is pretty normal and contemporary for late 1970's.
