a weird sound in the first movie

i´ve been watching mad max 1 and always wondered the meaning of that sound at:
-first the nightrider scene
-second time after station master says "poor bastard"
-third time when jhonny the boy yells some gibberish nightrider stuff

does anybody know that sound?
it´s been kinda weird now

It seems to be just a stock "shocking/screeching" sound used in the film to convey that the Nightrider is a devilish menace.
1. First time the Nightrider is ever seen in the movie.
2. First time the Nightrider's coffin is seen in the movie.
3. First time Goose figures out the Johnny Boy is a part of Nightrider's gang.

I believe it is supposed to be a snake hiss. Though I can remember now, I believe there is supposed to be a connection between the snake hiss and the biker gang. I do know that the Toecutter hisses at Max when he is staggering after his arm is run over. It could also be a bird. I do know the sound is heard during when we see the crow at the end of the Impala bashing scene.

i remember as a little kid when watching the movie i thought the actors were making the noise and always wondered how n hell they did it and use to try and practice making it hehehe
but yeah it's like BAD COP and KICKHERINTHEGUTS says, it's definately related to the nightrider in particular and a metallic sound effect.
pity they don't ever mention it on the commentary of the dvd or anything, always wondered even up to age 34

As for me the sound was like the death of Toecutter as he crashed the truck. This noice is only in the original aussie version. I may be wrong or was it the crash of Nightrider? Neither in the french or the german version this sound appears.

I think it turns up in the US dubbed version, haven't seen the others
