Was it in HD? I was watching it, and it looked more like a standard def version to me. Same as Mad Max last week or the week before when it was on.

Still enjoyed it, wish they'd play the censored version sometime now that we've all got digital receivers, or at least release it on a DVD or something sometime.

Standard def it was...

MM1 was shown in HD as it had the same awful explosion sound effect at the end of the DVD version and Johnny the boy's missing OWW as he is being dragged.

One problem (?) with HD TV (LCD at least) is that i noticed DVD even if its a digital remaster looks somewhat pixelated? in certain areas, especially the sky area.
I had an old rear projection TV and noticed the difference in HD TV and normal TV

Recently bought a HD LCD TV and noticed that in some respects (especially old movies) it looks awful.
MadMax on DVD is an example, it looks better on the old TV (when compared to the video) but on the LCD it just looks a bit pixelated.
there is a soft/sharpen setting which may help maybe?
We are 100% snafu....

That's what happens when you go digital:)

Pixelization is due to low resolution of DVD, compared to High Definition of your TV of course. Not sure what kind of TV you've got but most new models have soften image options, and image upscaling options too. Other than that, the only thing that would help you get rid of those nasty pixels is getting a Blu Ray player and hook it up via HDMI to your TV. That's the ultimate way of watching movies so far:)

Or you know...
You could just get some HD movies on a USB stick and play them directly on your TV if you can.... That's how I roll ;)
