Our host for Wasteland Weekend 2010 has just been announced. Terra Morta will helping us make this a post-apocalyptic party to remember.
For our first photo shoot, we decided to put together a sort of tribute to Virginia Hey's Australian Playboy cover. We didn't have the time to put together a full screen-accurate Warrior Woman costume, and the one from the Playboy cover is sexier anyway. We combined that raggedy outfit with a set of white Rawlings shoulderpads (as a nod to the outfit she actually wears in the movie) and subbed a crossbow for the compound bow (We figured that was okay since she does use crossbows in the rig scene).
You can see the results:

We also took some shots of her as a female Mad Max (only with a few strategic pieces of the outfit missing...) but you'll have to wait a bit longer to see those. Lots more pictures coming from this photo session and another one we have coming this week.
Here are Virginia's original Playboy shots, the cover and an interior photo (you'll see that our outfit was actually more inspired by the interior picture than the cover, since we've got the knife on the leg and not the arrow).

Just to be clear, I'm not 100% sure she'll be wearing this outfit at wasteland weekend. It doesn't stay on all that well.
I know, I know...
But anyway, she'll wear some variation of the Warrior Woman outfit plus a few other costume changes. And she's really friendly and down to earth and great on a microphone.
She'll be a great host for Wasteland Weekend.

And this is a problem why, exactly?Max Replica wrote:Just to be clear, I'm not 100% sure she'll be wearing this outfit at wasteland weekend. It doesn't stay on all that well.

Here's an even more accurate homage we did the other day. Took away the shoulder pads, changed the ragged outfit up and gave her a compound boy instead of a crossbow.

Do all the hosts get compound boys? I'm sure there will be no shortage of volunteers.
She looks great. This thing is gonna go OFF.

I think it looks better with the shoulder pads. The Austrailian Playboy seems kinda like an obscure reference, the pads kinda tie it together.

The Australian Playboy cover outfit is really just something we did for fans for the photo shoot and it was something we could pull together quickly.
For her event costume, we're trying to put together the warrior woman outfit from the movie with the white shoulder pads, sweater etc.. That one just takes longer to assemble.
She'll have a few costumes for Wasteland Weekend actually. The Warrior Woman (movie version) as her Mad Max homage, and a then couple of original outfits.

Here's a more exact tribute we created a few days ago. Removed the shoulder pads, modified the shabby clothes, and replaced the crossbow with a compound boy.
