f100 project, humungus or the cobra truck???

Post by cruzn2the max »

The local scrap guys got this f100 i was going to buy the motor out of it for my gemini drag car, when i went to look at it it came to mind what a great car to make a replica cobra car out of madmax2, the roofs stoved in and is running. The seat in missing and the grills broken.
Its a 75 model and the lines are a little different, but what the hell.
The guy wanted $500 for the engine and box, i asked how much for the whole car and got told an extra hundred, and its got a 9inch in it too.

I was actualy there to pick up my 60s van i bought off him, so now it looks like iv bought a new project to take to silverton next year, along
with my buggy and max sedan. And if i dont go ahead with it at least i got an engine 4 me drag car and can wreck the rest...

Heres a cpl a pics where it sits...

So all i need is a seat, grill, and sunraysia wheels, oh and another car trailer lol... and some red paint and airbrushing...
Both doors dont close real good, but once the boat screen is on the doors wont open anyway, nothing a portapower wont fix...

Well i did consider building a Humungus Machine with this car, me and the mrs have discussed it all this week.

She said as the body is there and the roofs stuffed go the cobra truck,.

As we can always get just a chassis for the other idea latter.

With the Victorian laws theres no way it will be able to be registerd, not with that boat screen anyway, but i may look into club rego as all the running gear is original.
But the idea is to drive it round up at the areas where no 2 was filmed.

Thanks Humvee you are the godfather of building something different...ur a legend and iv seen the vid to prove that lol...

An excellent candidate for just such a build. Fire up the Sawz-All!! 8-)

Al great find. Perfect for a snake conversion.

1st thing, get that roof off!
LTDHO = Supercharged Intercooled 5.7L 360rwkw, 6 speed

XB Coupe = Stock Fairmont GS with 351 and 4 speed.

But I really want a 600rwhp XB coupe!

It can be done, look at my thread on the model I built from a 1979 F 350 model. the 67-79 F series trucks are he same just slightly different body panels but you can actually bolt on a 67-72 front end on the 73-79's. It looks weird but hey.this trucks a beater project with endless possibilities! 8-)
