Background Berserker Vermin Vehicle

Post by MFP1 »

Thanks to Springleaf and Cueball I have been looking at many details that have passed me un-noticed before. Here is a little Berserker vehicle in the background that I dont recall popping up anywhere else in the film. You can see that a Berserker dirver is heading to it to help harrass the tanker. Anyone know what it is, or if it gets any other screen time?

Looks like it might be a late 60's/early 70's Nissan Blubird/Datsun 510 coupe to me, from the roofline, and rear end profile. With the side windows, bumpers and front grille removed.

I tried to find a pic with a similar profile as the sreengrab:

Do you mean the black LC/LJ Holden? It is in the vehicle listing on this very site:

"The LC/LJ Holden was an XU1 built on a HQ Chassis. It was found behind the Liverpool Speedway and painted black for the movie. It was powered by a 308 Holden motor. It was then later painted grey and a dummy turbo fitted. After the movie the car was raced in Broken Hill, and later at Port Pirie SA. The car was eventually sold in Quorn SA for $300.00, and it's current whereabouts are unknown."

Zarana-X:
That looks like it could be the base vehicle.

HUMVEE Driver:
I dont think it is the LC/LJ Holden Torana as that car has a much diffrent lookig profile:
(Althought I have long wondered what eventually happened to it, or any of the other cars that got sold semi complete at the "Auction" of MM2 leftovers)
Here is the LC/LJ Holden Torana just as a refrence...

It looks like a MK1 cortina to me...

The Datsun is too boxy and has square headlights...
The small grill on the bonnet can ust be seen and it has circular headlights.
The roof also a small curved profile.
We are 100% snafu....

Theres actually 4 black Holdens

1. 1974 Statesman Sedan with all the panels missing, the huge blower, and the Jeep grill.

2. The Torana, the one that used to be a Speedway car. Has a police light on top

3. Another Holden similar to the Torana but with a missing hood and a light placed on the grill.

4. And of course the one way in the background behind the red cross buggie is from what I've heard a '69 Holden.

It is not a LC torana.
Also, being the LC's were a small car, how did they fit it on a large HQ Chassis? Methinks that is an error.
PS Liverpool speedway no longer exists. It is now a shopping mall.
