Capri project

Post by blown215 »

Hi guys
Haven't been on here for a long time ( moved to the States ) so been a little bussy but now I hope to have some more time to enjoy the forum.
I've made an album on the net that gives a idea of the project ( Ford Capri ) I'm working on.
So if anyone of you would like to get a little more details/pic's here is the link:
http://interceptor.joenborg.com/
Think it's better than putting all the pic's on here.
I'll do a video now that the blower is working.
Can't wait to get on the road. Need to find someone to paint the car first.

Dude, that is an INSANE amount of work. I can only assume you don't have small children. :)

I can't wait to see the finished product!

dude, some amazing fibreglass work there. it couldn't hurt to stick the occasional picture over here, just to remind us to go over there and look.

Now that your in the states, that blown 215 can easily turn into a blown 351 cleveland or some waaay hotter American V8/blower combo. Also you can put a 9 inch ford rear into it too.the possibilities are endless since you have close access to the USA's go fast goodies like Summit Racing and Jegs and of course the P.A.W catalog

Congratulations on such an innovative project.
Its so impressive to see people undertake a project like that and yield such great results.
Its a credit to you.
You started from scratch using a car that does not have bolt on mad max options like the falcons.
Thats what makes this project even more impressive.
Well done.

I bet you cant wait for the maiden voyage.

Thanks guys
Yes the kids are teens and up. But the wife still don't like the time spent on the project :0)
I'll keep you posted with pic's when there is progress. At the moment I'm working on the rear bumper ( Ford Granada/Consul coupe 72' ) to get it to fit the shape of the Capri, so another pile of fiberglass is purchased.
Bart you'r right, I've started to look for a Mercury Capri mk I to do a transplant with some real V8 iron. A 4.6 P71 Crown Vic engine would be alot of fun in a light weight Capri.
Would have to do a little '' cut and paste '' in the engine bay but still possible.
I'm still aiming on getting the car driveable for the show in Renfro Valley in November.

My 1973 Capri was 351C powered. I had to re-work the steering and brakes but it wasn't too much work. Where in the states are you now?

Hey Johnny,
Nice to see the Capri coming along! Moving to the states should free up quite a few options on the beast.

Nice work so far! Keep the pics coming!

That Capri sounds like alot of fun, kind of what I had in mind. I've moved to Mt. Vernon, KY and like it so far.

Yes it looks like no limits here. Vent to the local cruising and that was quite a nice suprise. All kind of vehicles, no fenders very loud and some of them looked like they came stright from the drag strip :0) Very different from Denmark

Here is some pic's of the rear bumper and hood locks

Still need to do the vid. with the blower running.
