SAVE THE THREE WRECKS

Post by Bad cop »

We all know that the three wrecks, the Interceptor, buggie, and the Red F-100 are slowy rusting away in junkyard with an owner refusing to sell or preserve.
I'm not in a position to do anything, but all the current fans residing in Australia have the power to gather together and march down there and demand he either sell or do the honors of covering the vehicles with a tarp or cover to stop the slow deteariation of three pieces of history. It won't happen unless we all do something. We need to start a whateveryoucallit to prevent from the vehicles from crumbling into nothing. I feel helpless and I'm fed up with it.
Does this bloke have an email so we can all send him our 2 cents. If we won't sell he should at least preserve them. It's obvious that a Mad Max Museum won't happen. Can't they be on display in Broken hills? They have an Inerceptor replica,Why not the three wrecks? That would count as a museum.
PLEASE HELP. WE NEED TO SAVE HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. But from everything I've heard, the man doesn't want to and he just gets upset when people come to his property to see them (which he has every right to). I think the thing to do would be to try and contact someone the man knows and have them try to feel him out. Very non-confrontational. But I think that if we try to do anything like offering to buy the vehicles, we would first need the $$$ in hand. Either way, it's a long shot. But I appreciate your enthusiasm!

Your first port of call would be the Silverton Pub.

Can't really be of much help in the contact and purchase phase of this endeavor but I own a vehicle restoration business and would be happy to help out with the vehicles should someone decide to resurrect these icons. If anyone feels i can be of benefit then contact me here via pm.

Cheers,

Troy

it'll never happen. at least not in a way that they are preserved for fans. they'll sit until they are so bad, they can only be saved with big bucks, which will come from a rich 'texan'* who will take them to the usa and fix them up (preserving none of their history/original parts) and keeping them in his private museum which is not open to the public... yeah, i'm cynical.

(*not necessarily from texas)

anyone going to save the green valiant dart car?

That would be the one I'd like to save, personally. But to my understanding, getting any of the cars is pretty much still a "no go" these days. Quite honestly, methinks you'd need big bucks anyway to try to save any of 'em.

How do I contact the pub? Is the owner in contact with the junkyard owner with the Red F-100 ect? If so I would like to contact him. Even if the vehicles can't be saved, the bloke can at least cover 'em up with a tarp or something.

Why did he even take the three wrecks if he doesent want anybody to see them and he's not using them for parts? Why would you want random junk cars on your property? He doesent care there MadMax related or else id think we could see them with no hassels. Plus they would be under some kind of cover already. Why the hell is that other car still at broken hill if i was in Ozz id have that dam thing in my garage! wouldent it be a free car? LOL
