STOLEN XA GS COUPE IN WESTERN AUS

Post by vj6pac »

A guy on another forum i freqent has had his XA coupe stolen, here is his post

My XA GS coupe was stolen some time between 4.00pm Saturday the 7th and 3.00am Sunday the 8th of March.

The car was parked in a locked yard just off old mandurah road Kwinana WA

It has vic plates rego UIO 383

A bit of info on the car to help keep a look out for parts..

Engine number NP1790.... i think, i'am 99% sure

Its a 302 block strocked to 351, it had new heads put on which were painted black and the rest of the motor was that ford light blue. Edelbrock manifold and 670 holley.

It had a T5 five speed conversion done by casltemain rod shop

A genuine small center hub XA GT 9inch diff with factory XA GT tramp rods. It had a 3.5 ratio center added which has new black paint.

The GS steering wheel was restored.

The front seats were retrimmed in the orinal black buffalo grain material, the rear plastic panels were still faded. The rear seat has some dodgy patch marks on it because it wasnt retrimmed.

14x8 and 14x10 ROH 12 slotters with 265/50 14 and 245/50 14 BFG T/A's which were 99% tred

Single head light grill which i did a dodgy paint job on, it was silver and black.

Left hand front gaurd was dinted from when it went through a fence.

The chrome roof moulds had some orange looking kill rust on them that would'nt come off.

There was a yellow RAA sticker on the back window

The id plate reads... (big tag id plate too)

11/72 XA Falcon 500 Coupe

Paint: Q (yellow fire)

Trim: B (Black vynil)

Motor: L (250 6cly)

Trans: L (4 speed toploader)

I can't find the rego papers for the vin at the moment, soon as i find it i will post it up.

It seems that there is a rise in thefts of "classic" aussie muscle cars?
AMC ran an article in last months edition about rebirthing of stolen cars.

One wonders about the fact that these stolen cars are supposedly being stolen to sell to other "enthusiests" ?

A few years ago eBay was full of fake sellers selling cars which were not theirs to sell, one wonders if this relatively easy means of selling has attracted more people out of the wood work into this field of theft?
We are 100% snafu....

Im very concerned about my coupe going missing.

which is why i have not and never will join a ford car club. i had a chat to a police friend who said that thieves were also members of some clubs, and knew where and when certain cars would be, and even knew about the owners security arrangements.

tell no one how you store or disable your car. do not tell them what type brand or model of car alarm you have.

i am a member of another car club, fortunately that brand is obscure and low in value, therefore no one steals them. in fact people ring me up and ask me to come and take their old non-going ones away on occasion.

id like to see car thieves hung from light poles in public car parks with a sign around their neck saying 'car thief' and the bodies left to rot.

It worked for horse thieves. Seems right to continue on with horsepower.
