Just reading the latest issues of Australian Muscle Car Magazine.
Theres a new aussie DVD which has come out called " Not Quite Hollywood".
Basically its a doco that celebrates "trashy" Aussie films of the 70s and 80s, especially the 1975 cult classic "The Man from Hong Kong".
Starring George Lazenby, ROGER WARD, Frank Thring, Rebecca Gilling.... the highlight being a car chase between a gold XT Falcon and a Valient Charger. The cars were driven by MAX ASPIN and Asian stuntman Jimmy Wang Yu !
Another movie features in the doco is "Deathcheaters" featuring GRANT PAGE !!
Sounds like something to grab and watch indeed. Flared pants, wild hair do's, funky music and real car crashes ....

Nobody has mentioned that there is an entire segment in the movie about the making of Mad Max which would not be out of place as an extra on a Mad Max DVD! It includes interiews with George Miller, Grant Page, Roger Ward and David Eggby, and that high-brow wanker Philip Adams trying to justify his bagging of the movie when it was released (must be tough for poor old Phil when so many highly regarded film critics around the world have praised it so highly). An excellent documentary, one that is definitely worthy of more widespread recognition, and very definitely worth a look. There are also segments on Stone, Road Games and a few other Aussie car flicks.
