He's the only guy, other than Mel, that I know can pull this off. Everyone else mentioned would more than likely ruin the movie. Spread the word, make sure Mr. Miller atleast ackowledges this Gibson-lookalike before he goes and makes a mistake!





Incase any of you didn't know, "Jack Finsterer" is the Australian bred -- main star in the movie "Kokoda". Check it out when you got time.

I have to stringly agree with you on this.... any other movies he's done as I'd like to checkout his acting.

Jack would make a perfect Max ... he has the same brooding intensity as a young .. sober ... Mel.





I was lucky enough to get to know him on Kokoda when I made the 'Making Of' doco for the DVD.





He's a nice bloke as well which makes for a change. In fact the cast on the film were all good blokes determined to do a good job on an important story. They were all deeply effected by meeting some of the real Kokoda veterans.





Jack also has a sister who is also an actor who is currently playing Desdamona in the Sydney Theatre Co production of Othello.

I still would go for Eric Bana but after seeing the picture of Jack you provided, it's a toss up between the two. This guy I would say could beat Bana by afew cents. Looks like a face in an "in betweener" of Mad Max 1.5. But please, no young guys. I don't know about everybody else here but I am interested in seeing Max in a post Blunderdome film. Lucas and Spielberg are doing an "Indy 4" and they ARE right this very minute. Indy is an old man. If Indianna Jones can kick ass as an old timer, so can Max. I don't know what Gibson was talking about when he said that there is no style in old timers kicking young punks asses. That kind of style has been in cinema for years and gaining popularity.





I don't think that Gibson could return even if he wanted to as Max to save his own career- not after that drunk driving remark he said about the Jews. He pretty well kissed his career goodbye in Hollywood anyhow.

i totally agree with you real deal. i posted a forum about jack to play mel. ever since i saw galipoli i knew that he was the one. he holds that same silent anger that max has and his facial expressions are uncanny.

no no no....there is no point picking an actor just because he looks like mel...ive never understood why people do that and you would think after many failures in film that it doesnt work....casting this guy jack as mel's replacement turns the max films into some tacky straight to dvd pastiche....like the horrible horrible remake of vanishing point in the 90s with viggo mortensen...thatssss what would happen.im warming more and more to russel crowe but (a) hes to butch and (b) it would be too hollywood.so christian bale it is for me....i can see him ripping up max unexpectedly like daniel craig did so well with bond.
