I think there's more to the RW final chase scene.

I posted something about it in 'Another thought provoking question', no response so far, but the more I look at the final chase scene, the more hidden themes it seems to have.
I'm starting to think that Miller wanted to slip some other meanings under excess violence of the final chase scene. Let's retrospect -
(OK, now I'm gonna just repeat what I said previously about Max's U turn etc)
Papagallo realizes that the cap is off, and sand is pouring out. Catches up with Max, shrugs at him ("what now?"), Max not realizing that he's hauling sand looks back at the road as if he was saying "we drive on". Papagallo wants to save the kid (he knows that it's a suicide mission from now on), tells him to jump, that it's all over (look at where he looked after he said "We've won!"). Of course, it's over for them, because they fooled the vermin into following them.
Then Pappagallo gets killed by Humungus, who MUST have seen the sand too! I mean it's pouring right in his face.
So he's angry now, and gets a beating from the Gyrocaptain.
Max is taking revenge for Papagallo. Turns around the truck right after Humungus is left behind. He's gonna kill him, tells the kid to get the last shell for him. Then there's the bonnet situation with Wez, and the final crash. You might think that Humungus was running so fast that he just couldn't have avoided the truck. I say - Humungus committed a suicide.
How long did it take for Wez to turn around, for Kid to hide in the cab, and Max to notice that he's running straight at Humungus? A load of time. What was Humungus doing at that time? Running straight forward. He knew he was going to die, it was a duel. Humungus lost killing himself.
I think he just wanted to show his 'puppies' how badass he was, although it may sound unbelievable. But he definitely saw the sand pouring out of the tanker, did he feel screwed? I don't think he died in the name of gasoline, I think it was pride. If that was a suicide, he just jumped onto the top of my badass motherf**ker villains of all time.
Maybe I'm going too much into this scene, but to me, it's just too obvious to perceive it on a superficial level. There are many holes in that scene, but if you actually think of it, it makes much more sense, and shows that it's deeper than just 20 mins of killing and ramming.
Have a look at that scene again. Tell me what you think.
BTW - I don't think that cap+sand scene is a goof. What I think is a goof is the scene when Papagallo hits the tanker after he's been hit - there's no sand pouring out. Later on as Humungus approaches, the cap is off again.
