Kemps Bob on ebay

Post by nelson »

Marke kemp's bob is on ebay. I love the bit about it being street legal. And the bit about not emailing him to find out how to make them street legal, nice one!

These types of car cannot be street legal in NSW, no amount of engineering certificates will get you past the obscured vision and the striped headlight covers.

It seems to me that Kempey must be selling the car to pay for that Engineering certificate he obtained. I sure the MTA would be interested in seeing that certificate.

MMMM Now Now Nelson, you pulled me up a few weeks back when I made a presumption, So i feel compelled to Pull You up on your comments regarding Markes B.OB. Yes he has relevant certificates to allow his car to be street legal, and yes it has been passed.

Better still, why dont you contact Marke personally as Im sure he would like to hear what you feel your an expert on.

Perhaps he knows how to get these cars passed by the R.T.A and as he has spent alot of time and money on obtaining such holy grails he may be reluctant to just hand the information over.

Food for thought ?

Hi TNC, I am simply reacting to his note on the ad that asked any owners of nsw replicas NOT to contact him to ask how to get it registered. As there are only two other finished replicas (apart from his mate's Southys one) out there he is obviously talking about Scott and I. Scott and I have known for ages that Marke had his car engineered and havent bothered him, even though I have emailed him in relation to other issues.I know you can get passed the 'no mechanical parts extruding through the bonnet issue' by doing what he did and get the blower bracket to sit on the shock towers but you cant get engineered passed the obscured vision, the striped headlight covers and the blue light.

Michael Rennie had 'certificates' when he tried ebaying his replica also.

Marke doesnt need my opinion but perhaps someone buying it may be interested in it. As for being an expert.......I know a canary when I see one and as for the light, still deciding whether i would go Traffic Act 1909 or Crimes Act 1900 on that one.

See ya on the road....

As i said , he has gone to alot of trouble to ensure he complies with the relevant A.D.R's as well as the R.T.A road rules. Why would you want to drive a car if one : Its so highly visible and begs the Highway Patrol to pull you over and issue you with a T.I.N. and two : Why go to all the money and expense to replicate a car, and not spend the extra and make it legal.Theres ways around any legal document or guideline, you just have to find the loophole or get in touch with a person thats willing to help you over the hurdles.

Secondly . Have you ever seen the car up close Nelson ? , or are you just going on heresay ?

I dont need to see the car up close, have a look at the pics. Any person with a working knowledge of the relevant legislation can tell from those pics. Oh ok maybe if I see the car in person the blower doesnt obscure the view, the headlight covers are not really striped and the blue light isnt there. Its one thing to say you have a certificate and a different thing to actually have one that covers everything. Just like what people claim on their tax using dodgey agents. Of course you can do it until it hits the fan. You said he has the relevant certificates I say it is not possible.

Your point one I drive my replica and I know its not legal. I take the chance and so far I have not had any problems. When it happens I will cop it on the chin. I know the risk. I drive it, as does Scott because we love the car. Gordon tried very hard to get his replica legal.

Point two my mates kitt replica is not legal, it cant be made legal. It not a question of money, its legislation that gets in the way.

By the way, you are less likely to be issues with a t.i.n. in that car. It would more than likely be a defect notice.

Facts are as i said again Nelson, you havent spoken personally to Marke , Nor have you seen the car.

So Perhaps you may want to back off accusing individuals of being DODGEY or slandering people that HAVE done the right thing.

Your'e obviously hurt and bruised because Someone has legally got their car passed and you havent.

People that Think they know all the answers are different to people that have sought all the answers to the letter of the law.

You do not need to see the car in person or speak to the owner. LOOK at the pictures.

'Letter of the law" interesting concept. That car does not comply......you havent even address the issue of headlight covers, blue light, obscured view. These items can not be engineered. I spent six years as a cop in Sydney, i have a pretty good understanding of the relevant laws.

There is little point to going back and forward with this. You and him say it can be, I say it cant be. People can do their own home work, ring the rta technical assistance line on 1300 137 302.

On a personal note I am not hurt or bruised that marke has his car 'legal' I even invited him to do a French TV show this week in Sydney. I knew he had certificates way beofre this and didnt affect my view one bit. Good luck to him. He felt it necessary to write the bit about people not emailing him and that the car was legal.
