The very barebones R2 (UK) DVD's have been knocked down to about five quid for a while now over here.

There was a rumour doing the rounds a couple of weeks ago that one of the online retailers UK sites had listed a forthcoming Mad Max Boxset as coming from Warner Bros sometime later in the year, however the RRP quoted is actually less than the current cheapies so the possibility of those long hoped for Special Editions may be but a dream still.

One retailer over here, HMV does do an exclusive box set of the trilogy but it is just the three DVD's in an outer sleeve.

Also if buying the DVD's in the UK, avoid the cheap as chips nasty cardboard 'snapper' cases. A fresh batch was issued a short while ago in proper plastic Amaray cases as I think Warner Bros got fed up of all the complaints about their packaging!
