I wish that the Mad Max phase would have gone out with a last good movie. Thunderdome totally bombed, it seemed like the producers were trying to hard to make something happen or seemed to make happen. Pig sh*t gas? Tina Turner in high heels? Barter Town? The bad guy, a little dude ,was it Crowbar or something? Masterblaster? even in the movie Mel didn't look like he was to into it. What happened to Feral Kid and the tribe to the north? Now that would have been cool. Well anyway I like Mel Gibson with long hair, but then he got a hair-cut in the movie. I loved braveheart. Bye.........Milo.

Yeah GEORGE originally just had an idea about a 'lost tribe of kids' thats all he had, then the knobhead thought, 'aye, lets throw MAX in there', he shoulda just kept the Lost tribe of kids, but i guess around that time there was GOONIES, and EWOK spinoffs and sh*t, and everyone woulda thought he was an imitator.
Everyone i know who actually like THUNDERDOME either saw it before the first two MAD MAX's, or still haven't seen them...

In itself, Thunder is a fine flick. When compared to the other MM films, it's a fu&#ing joke. Think about the movie production: a cast of hundreds (all with custom costumes from post-apocalyptic rags to black leather to chain mail); the entire city of Bartertown built from scratch; a fleet of wild vehicles. A typical big money 80's movie. Of course, George and Mel jumped the shark with the lost tribe of snot-nosed brats. Hopefully, the dynamic duo will not disappoint in Fury.

Your right FERAL, it is cool, by itself, until MAX meets the kids, the movie is flowing along fine, little bit of a lack of vehicles, but still alright - its the entire f**king hour or so they dedicate to those darn CRACK IN THE ARSE kids, that f**ks the movie up.
Why couldn't MAX have been carried out into the desert, falls off the horse wlaks through the storms, collapses and is found by JEDEDIAH, or some ex MFP men, they have an underground garage with left over Muscle cars, preferably FALCON's and MAX promises them they can have first choice of any 'souvenirs' at BARTERTOWN if they just help him go back for revenge.
...though i kinda like the end train chase, ya can fit that in somewhere.

It was becuase Byron Kennedy died.If he were alive Thunderdome woulda been dark and gritty like MM2/TRW was.

Yeah but BYRON died during the movie not after it, so he certainly had a hand in that crappy script.

George Miller and Terry Hayes wrote Thunderdome.Kennedy had drafted outlines of his ideas and concepts but ultimately it was Miller and Hayes who wrote the final result.
Kennedy had discussed the idea of bringing Wez(and a couple of others) back in Thunderdome, linking MM2 and the third installment, even more but it didn't happen.
And before you pffft at me again rockatansky...pop over to the Mighty Wez site and have a good, looooooong look at pics of my hubby standing next to his dad
