This question does not have to do with Mad Max movies, but with the cotent,
My question is how would we survive a post nuclear war world?
Would people in general be swayed to the philanthropic ways or the crimeful ways?
Go ahead and say what you would do in this situation
Eh Max, let's have a see-looks

My reply is this.....
I would probably take to the highways, attempting to find some passage to Scotland where I would survive in the ancient brochs.
From then on I would try to form a tribe of survivors and fend off invaders. I might even try to form an empire of Scots.
I'll elaborate. The empire would span from the Orcades to the shores of Normandy and the capitol would be Renfrew. Ireland would be left alone along with Wales. I would appoint generals in some parts of the kingdom and rule from my seast in the Highlands.
English military weapons would be taken and used if any Hoardes or other striving empires threatened Scotland. By Scotland I refer to the whole empire. I would set up small expeditions to take warheads and weaponry from the Americas as well, and mabye even spanning my rule to the New World.
I think that I would try to also invoke a revival so that people are not just worried about their meals, but have distractions. However, nothing lasts forever. Like Vikings of old, Scandinavians would probably come over and take out my empire after long wars with French and German nomads drains my military might out. Hopefully, I'd be dead and in the dust at the fall of my empire, so that I could not be tortured.

Eh Max, let's have a see-looks

In Mad Max (although it was never mentioned in the film) the world was in utter chaos. Australia was in chaos because either a WW III was approaching them or it had already struck. I wouln't choose the latter. In Road Warrior, we see in the opening montage that a 'war to end all wars' had struck Australia, yet, Australia was the country that was the least hit by nuclear weapons compared to other countries.
In my opinion, nobody would survive a nuclear holacaust- nobody on ground zero or surrounding areas anyways. Fallout would rise to the surface and move around the globe eventually affecting the entire population. After a WW III, there would be darkness and the electro magnetic field wouldn't work (EG: cars, motorbikes etc). Eventually, the electro magnetic field would be restored and vehicles would work once again. Hence we have a gateway to The Road Warrior. Although a fantasy film, Road Warrior is a real look at a violent future and what the human race is capable of turning into if WW III ever happened. Road Warrior showed the world insanity at a whole new level- it brought a new trend called "extreme violence" to the screen.
When anarchy strikes at a shocking new level thus threatening potential extinction, the laws of the land are no longer rellevent. New laws are made and it becomes every man for himself- kill or be killed- only one rule would apply which would be to 'save yourself'.

This was the basis of the character backstory developed by Vernon Wells for WEZ.

Seems to be a bit of confusion of some Nuclear terminology and effects of a Nuclear Weapon detonation..
We'll start with the term "Fallout" This means material that has been thrown in the air by any sort of explosion that literally Falls Out of the debris cloud.
In the case of a Nuclear Detonation, this material is radioactivated and as such is quite a danger. (See Radiation)
EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) Field.
This is hard to explain, so I'll outline it's on cars in particular.
All Cars, Out of range of the Field - Uneffected
Computer controlled cars in range - Electronic components destroyed.
Non-Computer controled cars in range (Depending on type of distributor) should remain operational.
All damaged cars could be made operational again if undamaged spares could be obtained.
Radiation
Broadly divided into
Gamma rays
X-Rays
Alpha Particles
Beta Particles
Radioactive fallout.
I'm not really going to go into these.. I'll just point out one simple fact.
There are people living in Hiroshima and Nagasaki today.
Yes, there's a higher cancer death rate there than other cities in Japan, but there are people living & Surviving there.

Amazing how many niche's the name fits into...
I wanted to know how plausible the whole "Mad Max" thing really was.. So I LOOKED.

[div]Now the idea to me is that in the old days the nuclear war would be between the USA and the Soviet Union (and me being a Canadian would be right in the middle of it of course) and that the nations of the Southern Hemisphere that are reasonably advanced - Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina - would be the last places where Humanity would have an easier time avoiding the war. More so in Australia and Brazil, because spaces are rather wide open (both nations' populations are in coastal areas) and in South Africa because the nation is mountainous and easier to hide in.[/div]
[div] [/div]
[div]In a nuclear war.....post-war, provided I'm still alive, get a car and so south - Canada is not the most hospitable climate. Go South as far as possible - possibly Mexico or South America. Probably go from South America to South Africa and then to Australia. Australia and new Zealand would be the places least damaged more than likely. [/div]
