A twisted theory from my youth. The first time I saw RW (in the theater no less, with my then girl friend, now wife). When I first saw Humongous on screen, with his mask, and apparently damaged head/face and ???? I thought and my wife said "Is that supposed to be Goose" "Did he live". You've got to understand this was a time before all these big previews you see now, and no internet chat and spoilers at all. Once we realized it wasn't him (mainly voice and size), as the plot started to unfold, we thought McAfee???? Would explain all the ex-cops and cars in his gang???? But alas now I feel the same many of you all do, but wonder did any of you every think this? Maybe it's the result anxiety, "I mean of seeing the first two films as the were released.....with no MM FAQ to reference"
So? Anyone want to comment? Something like "yea I remember when I was young and stupid" would be appropriate....

aye, that GOOSE one, is good. I mean if you were a kid, and saw the movies back to back, in order, i could understand that.
Get this - When MAX is talking about his dad to JESSE, i thought he meant his dad "took big pants" - ya know - "he was tall, and he always took looong strides"
Cause my dad used to always say, - "go put ya strides on" I don't know if you yanks call pants, strides, but we do.

Hi Pulse.
The first time I saw RW was in the cinema and the cinema was playing Mad Max and RW one after the other all day. The only trouble was we all met at the pub first to go. As you can imagine, getting 20 bikers out of a pub to go to the cinema together is a mammoth task and as you'd imagine, we were late.

We were told however, that when Max had finished, we could go in and stay after RW, to watch Max as they were playing continuously. Obviously no-one left the cinema, so we all piled into a full cinema and sat on our helmets in the aisles. What a laugh. The place was stinking of sweaty feet, you could hardly see the screen for smoke(you could still smoke without being shot in those days) and then we recited most of the lines for Max en masse before they said them thus ruining the film for the new lot that came in.
Anyway, we went back to the pub to discuss, as you do and came up with the theory that the Humungus was Fifi(back on topic again). The shot at the top of the stairs in the station, appears to show a scar on the top of Fifi's head that we thought, was identical to one on the top of Humungy's head. We were also convinced that the mask, was the one that Labatouche had for his kendo or whatever it was. Then if you take the gun with it's presentation case, well obviously, that had to be police issue for service. The size of them both is similar (The Goose would have had to seriously beef up really

). We were convinced. The only thing we couldn't explain was the accent.
Even to this day, I still have a great fondness for this theory, and whatever you think, I love it.
It just goes to show, with enough beer, you can convince yourself of anything.

Bubba: Yep I rest on that end of the Twisted Theory a lot too. I've never noticed the scar? However two nights ago I popped RW in and took a close look at Humongous (zoomed in +15). I was sort of looking for any sign of FiFi's spider tattoo on Hu's head, under the straps... Well anyway I noticed that "HU's Got no ears!!!!" Seems like who ever made the appliance for the back of his head (pulsing veins and all) ether didn't put ears in/on it or maybe they were supposed to have been destroyed or eliminated by what ever did that to his head.... Maybe it wasn't an accent at all maybe whatever did that to his head effected his voice also? Heee heee "maybe just maybe the Mighty WEZ is supposed to represent the little bird that Fifi cared for in the less damaged world (same scene at the top of the stairs)"? "You know the mohawk and feathers and all? I wonder if so did he ever recognized it was Max? Like at the moment of impact?
Here's another one for you, and yes I know all the available "real" info, however here it goes. What if (and if I was going to do a remake of the classic)...... What if "the Dark One" is the officer the Nightrider killed when he stole the Black Pursuit special? Is that the first thing that starts Max on his path? He (the Dark One) is a young officer, Max's new partner. Max and Goose have given him the nick name "the Dark One" because in his youthful "rookie" nervousness he is allways looking at the "dark" side of things. Not in an annoying way, just newbie jitters..."Oh he is a dark one isn't he!?" He gets a special assignment as an escort for Nightrider to his trial. That's why max is alone when the story starts, and that's why they have to offer him "candy" before we have seen to much trouble.
Love your bike club screening story that's great....do you still ride? What?

Just got a bike again this year after 15 years off and I'm loving every minute of it.
Got a lovely little Bandit 600 to get me back in.
Oh, to be back on the liquorice road.
