Where did max get water?
In road warrior, there's nothing about water at all. I would think that in the outback of australia water would be even more important than gas. Any ideas of where he got water and how he stored it?

Where did max get water?
It isn't not a major Plot Point, is it?
I guess the focus isn't supposed to be on "General Day to Day Life", but more focussed on the search for fuel/Energy.
My guess is that Max had a supply of water on board the Inteceptor that we don't see.
Perhaps a few Canteens or water jugs or something.
Where does he fill THOSE?
That falls to the Category of "Basic Survival Skills".
(If someone more familliar with the terrain in the area would like to chime in, here...?)
Rivers & billabongs are still a possibility. Underground water can be reached by digging and there's other methods that work nicely..

The 'fallout' from Chernobyl reached the UK and Ireland ... livestock fell ill from acid rain contaminating their drinking water.

A note: While Fallout particles decay fairly rapidly, they do get into the Jetstream & upper atmosphere..
In theory, they COULD travel worldwide before they decayed to safe levels..

They would get water from the same places any one else would such as ,ponds ,streams ,old wells and a few other tricky places that some survival books will reveal. The fallout could be a problem but think about how many nukes we have already set off in the world and there is still plenty of clean/purifiable water. I don't think they sent too many nukes Australias way only a couple towards the major cities. People still live in Hiroshima and there are some people alive that were only a 1000 yards away when the blast went off.

There is an ocean of water that runs under Australia beneath miles of rock. I'd say it would be protected from radiation. That would be the source, I'd say.
