MAD MAX 1 RE-UNION.

I am sure I speak on behalf of most of the Mad Max fans out there who attended the Back 2 the Max weekend at Broken Hill and I would have to say how enjoyable and memorable it was.For the guy's who missed out it was totally awesome, thanks to the efforts of Scott Smith and his crew in putting this event together and bringing it back to the fans. I am sure you will see plenty of pic's and foootage from fans who attended,over the next couple of weeks. As this has been a long time coming and we shouldn't wait another 21 years,I am going to start the ball rolling for all our International Mad Max fans out there who missed the event and would definately not miss another, I would like to hear from you guy's out there if you would be interested in attending a Mad Max 1 re-union held in Victoria possibly one of the locations,ie Clunes.If we generate enough interest, who knows it might become a reality if all the fans can work together and make it happen.Let me know what you think.

Sounds like an excellent idea. Why don't we just pick a date sometime next year an work towards that date? We should also, book ' the beach house' - used in the movie and now a holiday-letting - ASAP.

I sure as hell are going to it!

I don't know how long it will take some of us to scrape together the $ for Plane tickets, Travel, Lodging etc. I'm all for not waiting another 21 years, but maybe 1 year is a LITTLE soon? The Beach house sounds like a great idea, Who get's the master bedroom?

planning IS already underway for an event next year. During the course of the Broken Hill weekend, I mentioned my ideas to a few people, and all expressed concerns with public liability. This is something I've got covered, and am now in the process of planning the specifics. Would possibly be looking at doing something October-ish. (2003)

Don't want to sound elusive, but at this stage, it's a little early to detail what's in mind. Nothing as grand as Scott's Broken Hill effort, but something that I'm sure any MM fan would love to be a part of. Will keep you posted.

Hey wrinkles and memax just get it on. The goodwill generated by back2themax should ensure a great event. By the fans, for the fans. i am sure that with the diverse range of skills and experience that members of this board have the event will be a success.

I'd be happy for such a trip,

re timing, I understand the need for keeping the momentum, but I think early to mid 2004 would be my personal preference. For non Victorians, next year might be too soon to back up and travel large distances so soon for Max again?.

Something in/around Melbourne would definatley be easier for International visitors to visit. If the Japanese pair are any indication, International visitors get so much more out of these trips.

Anyway, I think it would be great idea. I and many others would happily offer our support. Build it and they will come.

I'm not waiting 25 years for the next one, just let me know when its on! I like the idea of it being a MM1 get-together jut outside Melbourne somewhere, that way - with the right advertising and marekting - it could be a HUGE turn out of fans.

Either way, count me in!

Hey Gary

Cant wait to see you and your wild mustang in Adelaide for the extreame horsepower show in a couple of weeks, to have one of Australia's all time Street Machines both on display and active during the main event "Burnout Comp" is something I wont miss. Will you also be doing the day cruise?

Im off to get some grandstand tickets, see you in Adelaide
