Hello,
I'm planning a possible trip to Broken Hill in January 2017 to visit the MM2 locations and to see a bit of the Outback.
Currently I have Adrian's museum, the Silverton Highway and The Pinnacles mapped out to visit. However I'm wondering if anyone could
possibly pinpoint for me the location of the creek-bed where Max first meets the Gyro Captain and sections of the highway where the final
chase was shot, I think the "Meindee" Highway?
Any travel advice would be good also, are hotels/motels usually booked out at this time?
Thanks

Hi !
If you want to scout locations for MM2, it's pretty simple.
Here's an article I made that could help, even if it's in french.
http://seri-z.blogspot.fr/2013/04/mad-m ... tions.html
Since I made this article, we discorvered a new location, the scene when the gyrocaptain drag the log, it was shot at Speculation Lake, now the place is full of water. The final chase was shot mainly at Menindee Road ! It was shot all long of the straight line. But before you get there, you have the "Mad Mile" section, where the Interceptor explode (and in that section a small part of the final chase, like a small part was shot at Mundi Mundi, after the curve of the final stunt with the truck)
Otherwise, two locations are not "available", the creek with the gyro, which is a private place and the Pinnacles which are private land too, own by the mining company and by the Aboriginals. It's not allowed to go there... Sometimes, people gather together and pay the Aboriginal to go there (during the Silverton Festival for exemple)
If you want to stay there, there's the Silverton Hotel but you can find a very nice place in Broken Hill call "The Grand Guest House", nice place, nice cakes !

Oups, on my map, I made a mistake and put the red dot for the final chase on the wrong road. It was shot, of course, on Menindee Road !!!

Seriz,
Thats great! I'll review the blog you wrote as a guide. I'm looking at staying three days in Broken Hill at this point
or two days depending on how I get on with accesses etc.
Can you tell me where the Interceptor crash site is?

Make sure you go to the old mine shaft at the top of the hill near town. There is a property there and if you look over the fence you can see the original Interceptor wreck and red truck, some other buggies too. Ask Adrian nicely and he will tell you exactly where to look.
