Hi, I'm new here I'm wonder what is your favorite movie in this beautifull saga and why ?
My top is : 2,1 (I don't like the 3th movie) and fury road. I love this one but I found this film is too differant to belong to the original saga
Welcome ... I'm afraid this has been answered many times here already There are others here who rank them in the same order as you, TBH they're all enjoyable films in their own ways though!
@misterbee:
Not at all, mate. You have a very good order of the MM movies. MMBT as last at least
A lot of MM fans have 2 or 4 as nr.1. For me those 2 are the best ones also.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.
I like 1 but not enough to re-watch it again, I've seen it enough times but I could always watch Road Warrior every year, in some ways I like it more than Fury Road. I re-watched Thunderdome again recently and I really didn't like it. There are very good parts but a lot of bad. I would love to see what a film in-between the time of 3 and 4 with the advances in technology in around 2000 but George still sticking to real stunts etc.
They are all good, I would rather watch MMBT than most other non Mad Max movies anytime. Between the series some are better than others sure, but close enough it depends on my mood which one I feel more favorable on at the time. But like others here MMRW & MMFR are probably the best but hard to pick between the two. MM1 has some iconic stuff in it for me, but it is probably the most variable to my mood and therefore I think I would have to rate 4, 2, 3, 1.
My first impressions after seeing FR was it transfered everything I like about Thunderdome (the emergence of a new culture, the skewed speech, the mis-remembered past, and the more repurposed looking vehicles) and put it onto the action and mayhem of Road Warrior... Kind of the best of both worlds. I think Miller satisfied fans in that way without giving a carbon copy of Road Warrior which I was very relieved to see it was not. Fury Road doesn't carry the harsh realism that I like about RW but in it's place you have the wilder elements (craziness) that MMBT began to introduce and so it gives a unique identity, a real progression instead of just a side-by-side clone with a few minor story changes as a lot of other movie sequels seem to be. I'm glad each film has enough individualism that they can be enjoyed at different times on their own unique merits in my opinion.
Old saga = Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Pure cinematic magic. Pure vision. Pure genius from start to finish.
Fury Road is something else. It's the greatest movie of the last 20 years. I think it cannot be inserted in the "old saga", it wouldn't be fair for both the categories.
