Nope. It'll take a few years.

If it does happen, it may not be this decade!

Ha not a chance. This isn't a series like the Hobbit where its sole goal is money. George will take a year or two before even getting into the pre-production phase. 2018-2020 would be a realistic time.

Guys the way things are going now in productions for prequels, trilogies and sequels.
Its best the next film is made in about less the 2-3 years. It should be by 2017. Or else you lose the full attention of the audience you have built.
All the upfront work is done, they just need to have a good story. They know they can build the cars, characters and backgrounds. All the production crews are ready to roll.

I bet if this movies see an Oscar, we should see a film in the Summer of '17.

I can't decide exactly what he meant.

“I won’t make more ‘Mad Max’ movies. "
“I’ve shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those ‘Mad Maxes’ take forever. I won’t do those anymore.”

So maybe the next movie will be more of a pure dialogue movie, Tom Hardy already did Locke, driving in a car and just talking, perfect for the next Mad Max movie. Or, maybe he means the next movie will be just about Furiosa, which is what everyone wants anyway.
