Welcome to the forum. This particular topic's been discussed, debated, argued about, fought over, stabbed, roasted over a fire and eaten alive on here over the last two or three years. Many theories, wish-lists, alternate timelines and hypotheses have been passionately wrangled over. A terrible comic prequel gives one explanation. Dr Miller himself, however, hasn't said anything other than the wry observation that none of it makes any sense. And then he chuckled. Probably knowing how many die-hard fans are going to be driven insane trying to fit FR into the Mad Max movie chronology.

(There's no explanation. It doesn't make sense as a sequel, therefore FR is just a reboot. Different Max, different timeline of events where the Interceptor wasn't crashed and blown up in MM2. Somebody will disagree in 3... 2... 1...)

Think of it as the Legend of Mad Max, Someone is telling a story of Max so thats why its so similar to the other films.

Or what it is, a reboot for the reasons mentioned above. Maybe it was meant to be a sequel when Mel Gibson was involved and the wasteland was going to be full of skyscrapers and city ruins.

Thanks for welcome blackmocco love this site!

i like the idea of someone telling a story of their view of how it happened kinda like the Ferral Kid was telling the story of Road Warrior, so if you look at it that way kinda makes it no so bad!

lets hope someone else tells their version of The Wastelands (if it ever happens) and we get the Interceptor again :)

Miller has said that the cars in Fury Road are part of the characters personality. So having the interceptor help re-introduce Max's character. Once this was established the car wasn't required anymore from the point of view of telling the story and was promptly destroyed!

um the comics explain it rather perfectly. I'd say more honestly you should read it for yourself. and reboot. I don't see how one can read the comics (who's main scrips was written directly by miller himself so it's cannon) and come to the conclusion that fury road is a reboot.

Like has been said before, its been discussed to death.
Not to mention that in every single interview when asked how this movie fits into the timeline, Miller has explained it doesnt really. Its a stand alone film.
Do we really need to go over all this all over again?

We don't.

OP, use 'search' next time instead of asking the obvious.

The Feral Kid theory is fan fiction and totally unplausible , just think of the Interceptor like its Dr Who's Tardis its part of the legend :ugeek:
