How did Furiosa make her 'deal' for safe passage?
How did Furiosa make her 'deal' for safe passage?
When and how did Furiosa make her deal with the Canyon riders/ rocky riders? The movie clearly establishes that prior to the beginning of the movie she has made a deal for safe passage with the riders in the canyon, what i wonder is, when and how? Think about it, she makes runs in the rig between The Citadel and Gas Town and let's presume also to The Bullet Farm. However she is ALWAYS accompanied by Warboys who ensure her safety, the safety of the rig and whatever cargo she is collecting. So when would she have had chance to liaise a deal with the canyon riders? I can't see any possible way without the Warboys who are with her getting wise and alerting Joe and co back at The Citadel. I appreciate that ultimately it doesn't matter but the way the movie shows things makes me think that she couldn't have possibly had enough privacy to make a deal with a rival faction in the canyon.

Actually, I thought the same thing. She's watched all the time by Joe's son (the "midget") ; so how could she make the deal ?

Sneaking out night? Carrier pigeon?
Maybe one of the canyon riders sneaked into The Citadel to strike a deal with her.

Two days ago, I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker. You want to get out of here? You talk to me.

Maybe some of the Canyon riders have infiltrated the Bullet Farm and Gas Town and she made the deal there?

"Have you done this before?"
"Many times, but now I drive a war rig it's the best chance I'll ever get."
Sneaking off on a motorbike or smaller car would be a lot easier than with a war rig. Also, she's done a lot of war in the past, so would probably be quite familiar with the surrounding area.

With the capture of Max in the beginning of the film, far away from Fury Road, it is also reasonable to think that they do go out scouting other areas occassionally. With Furiosa being a respected figure among the warboys and to Joe, I guess she's allowed to go on trips on her own. Just not in the war rig.

Reading this line has got me wondering was this Furiosa's first time as a War Rig driver? Perhaps she was a War Rig Escort on previous trips and got her access to the people who run the Canyon that way to strike up a deal?Turbofurball wrote:"Have you done this before?"

I would say people from the various Wasteland Communities co-exist and trade with each other to survive despite the rivalry’s.....perhaps they met in Bartertown

Pray hes out there!!

Perhaps when in gas town other travelers came to trade and do a little business mybe even at the citadel. Rock riders said you ever bring us a large tank of fuel we will do anything you need.
