When Fury Road takes place!?!?

Since the Interceptor was destroyed in Mad Max 2 wouldnt Fury Road have to take place after Mad Max 1?

Yes, I think Fury Road takes place after first Mad Max. He already lost his family and he is wandering alone just like how Road Warrior started out.

You are kidding me right???

Even after watching the movie and the 6months of interviews with George Miller?

Not to mention all the threads here in the spoilers section?

Fury Road is not a sequel! It has nothing to do with the original series
We are 100% snafu....

Reminds me of several years back. Just when it got announced Fury Road got made.
Also a lot of new members in a short time.
Oh, the discussions we had back then
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Welcome to the forum :) Out of respect could you please conduct a search for this kind of topic. We've been discussing this movie on here for thirteen years now.

Okay, so here is what I like....with all due respect to roadwarriormfp, I disagree that it all has to be disconnected from the original series.

The 'prequel' comic and the game supposedly revolve around Max collecting parts and running missions to rebuild a car (decidedly not the 'original' Interceptor, but a replacement of sorts). This makes sense given Max yelling 'That's MINE!' in FR when he sees the silver Interceptor. He built it, he's going to wreck it (to paraphrase).

So...the part I like...people want to say this takes place before Thunderdome. But Max supposedly enters into Thunderdome Plus to get the motor. "Thunderdome Plus'? You mean Thunderdome Plus takes place before 'Thunderdome and Max never makes the connection 'later on' when dealing with Aunty Entity? The social environment in FR is older than Thunderdome.

And don't get me started on slicing and dicing the 2nd and 3rd movies so FR fits.

Honestly...it seems like going by the comic that the original trilogy, the video game and Fury Road are all connected and within the same continuity.
