Released date confirmed by other sources. Sigh. Another 18 month wait.

Well it's great we've finally got a release date set in stone, knock on wood anyways. lol

We pretty much knew a 2015 release was on the cards so it's not surprising although I was still being hopeful for a late 2014 date. This release date thus far though is good as it's 2 weeks after The Avengers 2. I'd expect the game to follow suit and be delayed and released alongside the movie.

2015... holy crap! i might be dead by then.. will be rightly pi$$ed if I am.

So that's 30 years... to the date of the release of the 1985 movie I wonder?

Just looked it up... 10 July 1985 (US release date) I wonder if there is a significance with the date or that's just the time slot they have allocated?

They'll be releasing it whenever they think they're going to attract the biggest audience.

Filming (almost) over, and now we still have to wait one and a half year. I really don't see the reason why it has to take so long. Are there other 'block busters' planned to be released until then, so they can release it in a 'not fully scheduled' time?
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

2013 got so choked with big releases that studios pushed some of their tentpoles to 2014 which now as a result has become a full slate too. There just doesn't seem to be an ideal window next year to release Fury Road.

That said 2015 isn't so clear either. A lot of big, big blockbusters are dropping that year with The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, Superman/Batman, Ant-Man, Terminator 5, Despicable Me 3, Star Wars, Warcraft, The Hunger Games and so on. It's interesting that WB have seemingly positioned Fury Road to kick off their Summer season two weeks after The Avengers which is either due to lunacy on their part or they really do have faith and are impressed with what Miller has delivered.

Variety mentions that The Road Warrior interestingly enough debuted in US theaters May 21st 1982.

Jeez. That sounds almost as crazy a summer as 1982. Among Road Warrior there was Conan the Barbarian, Rocky 3, Star Trek 2, E.T., Blade Runner, and The Thing.

Now that it's been confirmed hopefully now they'll hurry up and give us some proper pics and at least some poster art.
