Mad Max 1 Auto art

Post by Lonewolf »

Ok I have been looking for parts around model shops to convert my Mad Max 2 auto art in Mad Max 1. Although I was unable to find said parts at model shops I was told to wait a bit because it seems that Auto art will soon be releasing a Mad Max 1 version pursuit special in 1:18 scale along with the yellow XB interceptor. Why has it taken to long you ask? As I was told the rights to the first Mad Max where bought by someone in the states a while ago and merchandising cant seem to find this person to ask permission to make any official Mad Max 1 kits, diecast or toys and out of fear of being sued by an unknown owner of us copyrights they have not had the gumption to do so. I don't know what has changed to allow them to do so now, but the rumour is out that they will make Mad Max 1 diecasts. Can't wait.

I find it odd that someone had the rights to MM1 but not MM2. They produced those cars and currently have another version of the MM2 car on the way. Also To my knowledge the only sedans in the XA/B/C range are XAs by Classics.

There was a resin kit on ebay about 3 years ago with all the parts to change the Auto art 1/18 car in to the 1st version, I was lucky to get one.
It had the radio, boot, rear wheels, interior, blue dash light, front spoiler and the exhaust tips.

Depends in what scale.

i have seen 1/32 XB Sedans and also really nice 1/43's by Trax.
