No dog?
Max had a dog in the first two films and then a monkey. So far I haven't heard any news about a dog/cat/monkey/giraffe or any animal in this. I'd be really disspointed if Max or a Wife doesn't have a pet dog in Fury Road. If so would it be the first film George has ever made without an animal character in it?
Re: No dog?
Interesting.....I agree....however we have not had any intimate character info or up close stuff throughout the shoot.....all vehicle from a distance stuff.....trust the good Dr George.......cheers

I had brought this up early on. Dog was Max's partner, someone he could trust more than any person. The monkey kinda filled the same job. It would seem more like the Max we know if he had an animal partner more than a person.

If it are penguins, let it be Skipper, Kowalsky, Private and Rico driving that Merc limmo-truck. That would be a real laughpauli77 wrote:Maybe a penguin?

I love those insane penguins. They are way better than the rest of Madagascar.

Haha I'm loving the idea of an apocalyptic menagerie of animals following Max around.
I always felt the dog was a story device. Along with his wheels it symbolized them taking everything from him and leaving him a broken man - a less impactful version of what happened in Mad Max but a fitting subsitute. I guess it depends if they're going to "break" Max for the third time. My own view would be no dog and make him have to find his humanity again and I wouldn't get upset when they inevitably kill off the dog lol.

"Dog" in his own way became iconic. Just like The Road Warrior. The monkey was as forgettable a character as Beyond Thunderdome was as a movie.
