Whatever happened to the "Madness to the Max" docu?

I saw it discussed in here a 2-3 years ago but I haven't heard anything since. It was supposed to have included interviews with cast and crew members of the first film. Did I miss it?

It's called "The Madness of Max" by Tim Ridge. Has tons of interviews with cast and crew members, including Gibson and Miller. Hugh Keays-Byrne mentioned it in an interview early last year.

Oddly, it appears the docu was made several years ago. This "Mad Max Online" article from 2006 mentions it.

The gathering gave the 45 hardcore Mad Max fans, who attended from all parts of Japan, the opportunity to talk about their favourite post-apocalyptic hero. It also provided me with a unique opportunity to premiere a seven-minute teaser for the upcoming documentary The Madness of Max, along with an exclusive opening message from Jim Goose (Steve Bisley) and The Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne). The teaser was enthusiastically received and there will be a downloadable version here at Mad Max Online in the not too distant future.

Since it appears Tim Ridge is currently in the employ of KMM as a runner on Fury Road (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1426773/), I suspect that perhaps the documentary is awaiting to be attached to the release of the trilogy on Blu-ray next year by WB or released in in some form in conjunction with Fury Road. I hope, anyway.

Another year+ and nothing. Anyone know what's holding it up? In another thread, Peter posted a screen grab of Parry doing an interview for it. The interview is apparently from 2004, so next year will mark a decade since these and other interviews were made. It's gotta be either a rights issue (assuming too much movie footage is used for the "fair rights" copyright clause to apply), or they're just sitting on it until Fury Road comes out.

Waiting for Fury Road perhaps? I saw a photo posted a couple of weeks ago of Tim meeting Tom Hardy while they were doing the additional shoot.

I think you'll find it's more a case of its taken a long time for Tim to research and compile all the details, facts and interviews. Whilst some of it was filmed 10 years ago he has been constantly adding to it ever since. He flew to the U.S. Just to interview Mel Gibson and has also tracked down and interviewed almost everyone else possible involved with the films. He funded the project also entirely himself and Warner Bros have now taken on the films distribution etc. It will be included on in the official Mad Max anthology set to be released later this year, however it is available for immediate download via Amazon or iTunes now. Well worth watching from what I hear. I'll be buying myself a copy ASAP.
