Just wondering how many replicas are in Australia, the BoB and the other cars?

Re: How many replicas in Australia
Hmm.. currently that I know off.
BOB: 7... QLD-1, NSW-3 (2 at broken hill), 1 Vic, 2 SA
Yellow Interceptor: possible 4 QLD-2 (a third i dont know where it is anymore), 1 SA Edit: make that 6..... 1 in Vic and 1 in NSW
Big Bopper: 2.... 1Vic, 1 SA
March Hare: 1 in QLD still i think...
Knight Rider Monaro: 1 in QLD still i think
MM2 Laudau: 2... Vic and NSW
Goose bike replicas... 2 that i know of
Toecutter bike replicas... 2 that i know of
Maxs Van ... 1 I think he is in Vic?
The orginal Trike from MM1 is still around in NSW and so was the custom Holden Ute with the Merc indicators was still alive up until a few yrs ago
A lot of other Aussie built replicas have been sold and gone overseas over the years too.

Re: How many replicas in Australia
I used to maintain a database with pictures of Mad Max replicas around the world. Who owned them, which engine/transmission, where they were located and at what time.
The key words here are "used to".
It would be interesting to see someone pick the concept up again.

I forget the guys name, but it's the cars that were at the Campbelltown Art center a few years ago. I have his number somewhere. He an photographic artist. Neither car is registered (can't be under NSW road laws), but he only rents them out for big $$$$ (no car shows). Last I heard they went for a few months to some Gallery/show in Holland.roadwarriormfp wrote: Whos cars are in Hornsby??

By Holland, do you mean The Netherlands? And if so, do you maybe know what gallery/show?Daz wrote:Last I heard they went for a few months to some Gallery/show in Holland.
Otherwise I would try to go and see them

"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Bring me home, please
Finally! I made it to the Venice Biennale. My dislike for a city i associate mostly with plastic gondole and unreasonably-priced limp panini takes a short break in mid-October. The weather is pleasantly cool and sunny and that's usually the time for me to visit a fairly quieter Biennale (until you step inside the always sardined room showing Nathalie Djurberg's wonderful little videos and creepy flowers but more about this one really soon.)
I'll kick off the Venice reports with the show MADDESTMAXIMVS at the Australian Pavilion. I wasn't expecting to like that one as much as i did. A 1:1 'sculptural' replica of the V8 'Interceptor' car driven by Mel Gibson in Mad Max and parked at the entrance of the show almost made me run in the opposite direction.
