Hey Dave!

Don't replace your keyboard. Unfortunately I've only got a couple more pics up my sleeve. :(

I wonder what happened to the post on the beach. Probably just a prop and got removed and tossed away after they were done shooting for the day.
The post wasn't even mentioned in the PROPS & SPEC. REQS on the call sheets for the 2 days at Seaford beach/pier:

(Someone may build a replica post one day.?) :)

Thanks Troy

Mad Max is certainly alive and well thanks to guys like you and others here on the forum.
See you soon (hopefully between 4th and 11th Feb?).

PursuitSpecial wrote:How was it riding those bikes through the sand on the beach to get to the pier???
There was (and looks like still is by the pics below) a “ramp" leading to the pier, so there was no need to ride through the sand.
(But you remind me of when I rode through the sand at Glenelg beach in SA many years ago. It’s not too easy with a heavy road bike, and my bike started to “quicksand” when I got too close to the water. With help I pulled my bike out in time. Was a scary moment).

A recent photo showing the entrance to Seaford pier (the beach scene location was to the right of this photo ... it was a hot 2 days, so we were shading under the pier a lot of the time):

Another recent photo of a similar view as in Mad Max (the beach scene was to the left of this photo):

Starbuck greets Clunk as he rides onto the pier with the "female store dummy":

Seaford Pier photo’s in amongst here (scroll down to “Beach near Seaford Pier”) :

31 Years ago today ...
Friday 13th January 1978:

A few seconds later:

My mates, left to right: Mick R (sitting), Jim H ("Elton"), Kelvin O ("Nator"), Graham Mc ("Trouble") and Mick Daniels ("Mad Mick", who dropped Diabando's bike on Kirks Bridge)
and a crew member in the background (sorry, I forget his name):

Well, that's about it for my photo's unfortunately. It's been a real pleasure sharing them here and communicating with all you Mad Max fans from around the planet.
(The world is a smaller place than it was back then, that's for sure).

Looking forward to seeing some of you in Sydney on Saturday 31st January 2009: http://www.madmaxmovies.com/forum/viewt ... f=3&t=7796

May the Force (MFP) be with you!

Cheers

Hi again.

I was searching for the two Goose Scoot photo's (http://www.madmaxmovies.com/forum/viewt ... =30#p73566) to do a rescan at a higher resolution (for the UK's biggest selling motorcycle magazine Bike ... you heard it here first! ;) ) when I came across 14 more Clunes photo's in an old album.

Couldn't remove the photo's because they're stuck firmly to those awful sticky pages (those albums are not good), so I cut out the pages to scan easier.

These are probably the prints sent to me way back then by a young lady from Clunes who had taken the shots with her own camera, so I don't think I have the negatives. Luckily they are still in good condition.

Here are seven of those 14, scanned and posted in the order they are in the photo album:

Cheers,
