“Mad Max: Fury Road.” The sort of exhilarating gonzo entertainment that makes even the nuttier “Fast and Furious” movies look like Autopia test drives,

but it can safely be said that this madly entertaining new action extravaganza energetically kicks more ass, as well as all other parts of the anatomy, than any film ever made by a 70-year-old — and does so far more skillfully than those turned out by most young turks half his age.

Just when we think the Hollywood sequel-reboot-retread machine has worn itself down to a useless nub, along comes a movie to remind us that, sometimes, another dip in the same well can taste just as sweet.

Yet, Mad Max: Fury Road is an awesome motion picture. It’s the best movie of the year thus far and I can only presume will end the season as the summer’s best would-be blockbuster. Point being, if more franchise rebirths were anywhere near this good I’d stop complaining.

Fury Road is in the literal sense amazing, a wonderous blast of fun that's sure to warm the heart of even the most jaded anti-blockbuster audience member. Go see this film, and then go see it again... and again.
Mad Max: Fury Road may have been twenty five years in the making, but it was worth every second it took.

This is the richest of the four films thematically. It's the best script in the series overall. The way it grapples with ideas of both patriarchy and matriarchy, and the world feels lived in. It overwhelmed me. It was so much more than I hoped it would be, so much more than Hollywood has convinced us any blockbuster needs to be. George Miller is still the King; long live Mad Max.

Action is the purest form of cinema. They’re called ‘movies’ for a reason, and action is what they get across best. That action can come in many forms - slapstick, dance, even in the careful lack of movement, of chosen stillness - but when it comes to classical action you will not see a better film this year than Mad Max: Fury Road

I was so not expecting a tsunami of positive reviews. Not mildly positive or "eh, it's alright as a rental", but fucking insanely positive.

Wow. 30 years later and Miller shows them how its done.

Film is something special but to see all these overwhelming positive reviews....lets hope they can help spread the good word and make Fury Road a box office success!

Miller just blows all the latest blockbusters away.

How the hell did you get this film together?
It just happened, man. A r-real stunt here and a r-real stunt there.
That easy?
Yeah!

Fury Road 100% FRESH on RT after 31 reviews!

I cherry picked some big movies from the last few years:
94% Fresh - Dark Knight. It was good, not super great though. Mankiewicz did a great and courageous movie review but I can't find it anywhere.
87% Fresh - Dark Knight Rises. Wasn't really good. Looked rushed and a money grab.
78% Fresh - Indy 4: One of the biggest disappointments ever. I think there was a prairie dog and monkeys in it, unforgivable. I do give credit to Harrison Ford though, his Indiana Jones character was perfect.
72% Fresh - Interstellar: Unwatchable. Did they find a secret space HQ or something in a corn field? Same guy that did Dark Knight Rises. I won't ever see another movie by him again. I paid 17 bucks just to see it in IMAX(Never again, IMAX doesn't make a movie better imo). I really lost interest after 30 minutes, I tried to stay to the end but at the 4 hour point I made sure to walk out about 10 minute before the end. I didn't know what was going on anyway.

100! Fury Road F.R.E.S.H. Obviously I haven't seen it but there's no way this movie is going to suck like some of the movies above. I wonder if this is so great because of the 3 year lag between shooting and release? I know they put about 30 seconds of effort into DKR God forbid they take a year or two to tweak it and make it better/best/great.

One week from today I'm seeing this puppy and it's going to be Awesome!
