Pictured above.... The rear is too low and the 7 inch illegal spring hangers are missing.

Added a fifth leaf like the original GT and a 6th cosmetic leaf to get the look without changing the suspension geometry.

For a long time the appearance of 3 words in the decal, in the left picture from the movie, I thought could only read "Main Force Patrol".

But eventually had the stickers made with "MAINTAIN RIGHT" The appearance of 3 words I eventually put down to the gap between the T and A. ...MAINT AIN RIGHT

The rear rims purposely are not offset enough to be road worthy in Australia.

The Interceptor behind the ford ute used in the filming Mad Max 1....

Therefore, the Black Interceptor actually did retain IFE-509 as the registration during the filming of Mad Max 1.... :)

I had only assumed it retained the same rego from when the car was white.
Think I’ve found my favourite behind the scenes picture.

Giday there Queenslander, I thought the bridge was too short and heads up a hill instead of going left.... But, I've found you are right it's Emu Creek bridge with the car facing the other way! The picture above illustrates the Interceptor, ready to be filmed from the front, as it followers the camera ute back up the hill where Johnny the boy gets shish-kebabed in the back ground.

Trees and also the change in the field colour are still legible, 40 years on.....

Forty years in April since the release of this film. Little strange that a Texan from the other side of the world, needed to post up a link of a forty year reunion taking place next weekend in Victoria?? Surely the organizes would know of this site?

You would think any serious Mad Max fan would be familiar with Peter's site.
