The number of nominees is still to be determined.
The onslaught of December precursors have spoken, and what they've left us with is one of the most confusing, unclear and all-over-the-map best picture races in years. It's possible to imagine about 17 films finding their way to one of 5-10 nomination slots, and it's also possible to imagine all but one of them somehow missing the cut.

I was just thinking about the last Oscar ceremony and how lame and boring it was.
It's funny but on top of my mind I could not name you who won best director or even the best film.

Can you..???

I hope Fury Road will change that in two months...

Took me a few minutes then remembered that Argo and director Affleck won last year.

No, never. Argo is much older.
I saw it 100% in fall 2012 on a trip to New York.

Critics Pick the Best Films and Performances of 2015 in Indiewire's Annual Poll

For the tenth edition of Indiewire's massive survey, over 200 critics from around the world shared their top picks for the year in film. One title emerged at the top, with a strong contender in second place.

The majority of votes this year went to George Miller's desert-bound visual feast for Best Film and Best Director — with Todd Haynes' "Carol" landing in second place for both categories.

The two films traded off many of the other categories as well, with "Carol" landing Best Cinematography and Best Original Score/Soundtrack honors and "Mad Max" handily placing first in Best Editing by the widest margin of the entire poll.

Best Film - Mad Max: Fury Road
Best Director - George Miller
Best Editing - Margaret Sixel
