After reading the whole thing, I think you're right, biolumen. Pnut and Hardy talked about regimes and physical transformations... so Max will have his iconic costume I hope.

all i can say is if hes still attached i have got complete faith in tom as max the same as i did in kilmer taking over from keaton as batman he was awsome it was only to certain extent the way the film was made that killed it not him same as this film if miller makes a good epic solid film he should slide right in just hope hes not clooney hahahaha

but looking at him in some ways he does have some qualitys of mel gibson when he was young so as much as id lob a metal boomarang into a gimps forehead to see gibson return lets face it its not going to be the same kind of film as the others times have changed so has cinema im just happy we are getting max back one way or the other ( but i hope it is the same kind of film lol )

Hardy might star in the Al Capone movie 'Cicero' before Fury Road.

But to make Cicero happen with Hardy, Warner Bros. has more things to rearrange. He's attached to star in the studio's Mad Max reboot Fury Road, which shoots next spring. Insiders tell Vulture that Yates will be discussing the possibility of shooting Cicero before Hardy has to report for duty on Fury Road.

In the book 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy', the character Hardy plays in the film is written as an Australian. But Hardy admits his Aussie accent is "so bad" and a "non starter", so they got permission from John le Carré to change the character's nationality.

Of all the people out there, he was probably the best choice by far.

I still think they should have retro'ed it, and done an intro bit about other characters in the MFP.

Then they could have had Hardy as another cop (but not Max).
That way no one will compare him to Mel, as it would be a new character.

Front shot: A bike screams around the corner, it's pegs kicking up sparks closely followed by a yellow pursuit sirens blazing.
Long shot and pull away showing them both heading toward civilization.
Low roadway shot: Bike and car roar over camera as there is a sudden blinding flash. Bike is dropped and the car skids sideways. Cops exit car and watch the glowing fireball.
The biker get to his feet and prizes off his helmet dropping it on the ground. He walks backwards toward the car, watching the mushroom cloud. When he lines up with the cops at the front of the car he says "What now?"
Hardy takes off his mirror glasses and looks across at the biker and says "This changes everything"

Just saw Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Tom Hardy was good in that. He's certainly got some acting chops. Fury Road will make him a household word.

Apparently, Hardy leaves for Namibia next week. At 1:10 of the video linked below, he says that he's "off to Siberia next week.......for a year". I'm assuming Siberia is a metaphor for the Mad Max set. With filming in April, the timing is right since Hardy had previously said training will take 2 months.

Just talked to Tom Hardy. He's starting to grow a large beard and he's very thin. It's for MAD MAX. Said he films that next in W. Africa.
