Seriously, race tensions are not as much biological as they are political and historical. Classifying people into groups based upon steriotypes is often perpetuated by politicians and the media, and people acts upon these notions and attempt to live by them, no matter their own race. These same steriotypes are then used to turn people against each other.





Whoever attempts to eliminate their own ignorance will be less likely to believe perpetuated steriotypes are a general rule and perhaps instead see them as a curiousity or an exception.





Would people see everyone else as other human beings, instead of something lesser, large inroads could be made in reducing the wrongs committed in this society by any race.





Forget racism and Nazism. Such ideologies merely perpetuate myth and remove the focus from the cause of the real problems that exist: poverty, war, pollution, and fascism, among them. These are things all races suffer and all races help cause, and no one race is exempt from these problems.





The one who sees through rose colored glasses is the one who either ignores those problems, or the one who tries to pin the root cause on a specific race or group of people or even on everyone but themselves. The only way these problems can be solved is by cooperation. Sure, it's unlikely, but it is possible and will only happen under the condition a genuine attempt is made for it. Racism and Nazism simply helps hinder solving those problems and makes solving them almost an impossibility. Seeing through rose colored glasses is thinking all of our problems will be solved by isolating cultures and races apart from each other. But anyone who believes such is only fooling themselves.





As opposed to hating other races, perhaps it is more productive to respect them and try to understand them. If they harm you in any way, it's not the race or culture, but the individual(and whoever accompanied them) who is responsible, regardless of race. Action should be taken accordingly on the level of the individual, and not the broader collective...

Context is everything. This was a hypothetical situation in which some Neo Nazi were to see me as a race traitor and act accordingly. A little thing called self defense could be applied, especially with use of a firearm.





And if you read my statement correctly, you will see that yes, I do dislike Neo Nazis. But that doesn't mean I'd take agression out on them, unles they were directly threatening me or attempting harm right then and there.

That's fine, so long as they keep this philosophy from causing harm to other people innocent of wrongdoing by converting their opinios into actions. Legislating political correctness and morality is likely to fail, however, assault of another based upon race is an entirely different subject.





These drunks are a perfect example of turning their opinions into agression that directly harms others with malicious intent. Accordingly, those assaulted should have every right to defend themselves, even if it were to come to shooting these drunken buzzards right on their own soil.





Getting along will only take you so far if the other party is not willing to participate. However, if no one works toward the goal, progress is even less likely to be made.

Everyone does to an extent. It's human nature.





But these opinions can be changed over time with education and/or experience, and so long as one is willing to try to correct their own preconcieved notions and correct their own personal flaws, progress will be made, at least on an individual level.





I don't expect everyone to attempt to correct their own biases and get along with others they dislike, but a solution to the problems we face has to start somewhere. No one is perfect, these imperfections do not justify wrong actions, but if you try to open your mind a bit and place yourself into the shoes of other people of other races, and broaden your own experiences, you are likely to benefit from the knowledge gained alone, even if things may not work out the way you want.





Of course, you could continue holding onto your own notions. Your choice as an individual, and no one should be able to stop you. But by doing so, you may be contributing to some of the problems this society faces moreso than those who actively reflect upon their thoughts, opinions, and actions.
