The CGI is even worse.
The film looks nuts though.

Good trailer. The CGI is not that bad. But for me, Dementus is not that convincing.

Okay, first things first:
the new trailer is really good and the CGI has indeed improved over the first one. I like the actress of young Furiosa as a child, she really looks as a young Charlize Theron.
A bummer there's only one chance to make a first impression but the damage with the CGI has been done.
Warner also released a shorter version of the trailer with lesser CGI scenes in it, it has the vibe of the original Fury Road trailer from Comic Con back in 2014:

Imagine this came out in December as the first teaser trailer for Furiosa, there wouldn't be any further discussion about that damn CGI.

Watching this 2nd trailer I think I realised something.
I think a lot of people are mistaking the 'shitty CG' for the style George Miller is going for with this film.
I know this might sound like I'm coping because it doesn't look good, but if you watch his previous film - Three Thousand Years of Longing - the visual style in that film is very similar to Furiosa.
I think GM is perfectly capable of making a film that looks like Fury Road. Some shots in this trailer are looking really nice and 'realistic', but some of them are very 'dream like'. I really think it was done on purpose and I'm not a fan of this decision.
All of the Mad Max movies have been visually realistic, even Fury Road with all of its craziness. But this one is different. It looks more like a cartoon, or a fairy tale, or a campfire story with this weird uncanny valley look to it. I really think that's the visual style they're going for and the reason is that George Miller really leaned into the 'mythological' side of Mad Max. If you watched 3KYOL - that whole movie is about fairy tales, it's not grounded at all and the visuals reflect that.
With Furiosa - I think the same decision was made. We're simply going to watch a fairy tale, not only told like one but also visually. Because - how else would you explain the fact that they did in fact do stunts for real but what we see on the screen is so unnatural?

This stunt was done for real! You would never think it was because it looks so fake in the trailer. I think they're doing it on purpose.

As a fan of THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING I’m fine with it, I think both films look beautiful!

I enjoyed this trailer and its gives me confidence the audience are going see a great story. I still think the CGI is iffy in parts… a few chase scenes and especially Furiosa with her shaven heard looking down on Dementus.
Speaking of Dementus he appears to be a bit of a larrikin to me and has a some what comical way about him…despite being a War Lord. Without knowing anything about Dementus (never played the game) I think movie goers are going to like his character, regardless of the darkside he must have.
Noticed the VW Kombi van showed up in the trailer as well…been looking forward to seeing what it’s used for.

They really should have dropped a trailer like this first. I'm so excited now. The CGI will look a lot better on the big screen. I'm not that convinced on Anya as Furiosa but I'll have to see the actual film to decide that.
I think something to remember is how George had miles of desert to film Fury Road in. It looks like Furiosa was filmed mostly in a quarry. Bit hard to get a road war shot when you haven't much room to drive in.
Lots of throwbacks to previous films. Quick shot of Scrotus which is cool. Gastown looks great. I wasn't expecting to see the Bullet Farm so very cool we get to see the whole thing.

I don't think it's so much that they only had a quarry to shoot in - they had tons of allowances from the Australian government to shoot the film wherever.
I think it's a lot of reasons - as Taipan said, but I'm much more positive on it, Miller seems really big recently on emphasizing the deliberate fable qualities of his work. 3KYOL was basically an old-fashioned Powell and Pressburger film done in Miller's kinetic style, and this looks to be much of the same. He was even doing it in Fury Road, too - Namibia is less a practical place in itself or a stand-in for Australia and more the Archetypal Desert, like something from TS Eliot or Jung. . .or Joseph Campbell, who Miller is an acolyte of. He changes the sky and landscapes to be unrecognizable and nearly alien. For him, The Wasteland has always been a dreamscape.
But also, it's a purely practical thing - because, you know, they created that very distinct world I mentioned in the Namibian desert, and now they're shooting in the Outback (parts of it at least). So, how do you make them match up?
