Great post. Really makes you appreciate how much work has to go into a simple looking stunt. Not to mention the massive amounts of paperwork.

FR is like someone took Max after Thunderdome and transported him into Fallout universe. Immortan Joe, Bullet farmer all seem like Fallout characters.
Lol. Having played the fallout games, I think this is a good point. It's almost like this whole thing has come full circle. Max inspired Fallout (not as much as people make out mind, as there are a lot of differences) and now it seems, intentionally or not, Fallout has inspired Max lol.

CGI has been used as a crutch too often and as such, sometimes it's better to not do something than to do it badly.
I don't have a problem with CGI, per se, just in how it is used. The Mad Max movies had a certain appeal for the very fact that the stunts and road action looked real, because it was filmed real and transcended the genre. It gives them a certain credibility that Fast and Furious will never have.

CGI films I really liked:
District 9
Casshern
Avalon
Fifth Element (I can watch that movie anytime)
Avatar
Transformers (I like the first one. My dad liked it. Neither one of us like the old cartoon or the toys.)
300
Sin City

Cannot stand Suckerpunch.
