I always wondered how the Feral Child (The Narrator) knew about the car chase at the beginning and the meeting with the Gyro Captain since they occurred before the child met Max.Bad cop wrote:Based on what someone pointed out about MM2 and MMBTB being told from the perspective of a narrator, whose to say the Interecptor was actually destroyed? All the people saw from the compound was an explosion and it was the Gyro Captain who found Max crawling in the desert. Far fetched I know, but I refuse to except the new film as a reboot. I will stretch my imagination as much as possible to connect it to the previous films. Who knows, the continuity might work in our favor. While it has been Miller's goal to start a new trilogy, he may have found a way to do so while keeping them connected to the previous three for us diehards.
Tom Hardy as MAX

Re: Tom Hardy as MAX
We need to also keep in mind that they built an Interceptor for Mel's version of Fury Road, a movie with a slightly different title (Mad Max 4: Fury Road) and obviously set post-Thunderdome. How do we explain that car's existence? Flashback? Is the car being re-purposed in the new movie?rustycarr wrote:Ok , obviously there is an Interceptor with one tank, that puts that car before part 2 and after 1. flashback...? quite possible, especially if its set after Thunderdome
Re: Tom Hardy as MAX
Why are folks assuming the BOB turns into the Silver Charger in FR?
Also, the trailer with the car wrecks is part of FR? If may just be carrying the car wrecks to the local scrap yard after filming?

Full photo of Hardy as Max has been uploaded now:

Found it via here:

Curious as to who their source is as they say they released the first upload of the photo but I don't really want to join a "Sexy" Tom Hardy fan club to ask and find out....the missus might wonder what the hell is going on.

Nice work DGSimo. Now all we need is for the photo's owner to make a hi-res scan of it and post it somewhere.

It seems some are missing an important piece of the quote posted by DGSimo. This appears to be a spoiler.
To me this indicates there is a Tom Hardy version of the originals, "based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived." This would explain why they recreated the Interceptor and the leathers that we will recognize. The first part of the film will be a re-telling (ie: reboot) of the stories we already know, condensed. Then the new story will continueTH: No, no, he wasn’t. He’s a legend man, but he didn’t do half the shit that we’re going to be doing in this one – you can fit the entire fucking trilogy in the first 20 minutes of this one. He’s a legend and I’ve got his shoes to fill and that’s going to be difficult enough, but the entire Mad Max trilogy is kind of over in the first 20 minutes. It’s epic, it’s ridiculous.
It’s a big live action, fully articulated stunt piece which picks up where Mel Gibson’s Mad Max left off and takes it to the next level.

Well I bit the bullet and sent a group invite request. If accepted I'll try and ask where it originated from and the chance of a higher resolution uploaded.biolumen wrote:Nice work DGSimo. Now all we need is for the photo's owner to make a hi-res scan of it and post it somewhere.
Though you'd think Warner Bros. would just go a head and release it rather than a low resolution photo of a photo floating around out there.

Re: Tom Hardy as MAX
I base that theory on what I said in my previous post , the possibility of 2 of these things existing is highly unlikely IMO , the possiblity of Max finding another one exactly the same is very unlikely as well , I wouldn't buy that and they didn't try to get away with it in BTDMud Guts wrote:Why are folks assuming the BOB turns into the Silver Charger in FR?

The car carrier appears in a couple of shots lumped in with the rest of the " convoy " vehicles , I suspected it was part of the movie because if you have a look at it , it has the black and red flags on it similar to other vehicles in the movie , also another forum member remarked that the parts hung over the truck look " posed " and I agree with that also , if it was a support vehicle for the movie then it would be a bit newer than the one in the shots , the prime mover is old and in one photo you can see it towing the black tankers trailer.
I'm thinking this is what the tow truck and the trailer do , they recover the broken vehicles like armies do in wartime , otherwise the enemy gets them and uses them against you , out in the middle of a wasteland , car parts are what you can scavenge
My theory on the way it fits in with the first 3 movies is this , imagine a Y or a fork in the road , you start with MM1 you get to the fork and go left into MM2 and BTD , you take the right fork and go to Fury Road and Furiosa
