Which reminds me - whats everyones routine - on Christmas?

I know you yanks - do most of it CRISTMAS EVE. don't ya? And don't you Pom's open your presents on EVE, or some thing?

We do it all on the day. With my family - Me and my little family, (Us and the kids) Get up early have breakfast and opebn all our presents at our house. Then its off to my mums, by about 11.00 And its more presents, and Christmas Dinner, by about 1.00. Thenh we relax till about 3.00 and prepair ourselves, then its up to HER family, NOISE, a new Relative i still haven't met yet, and its more presents, and usually a Christams tea, usually cold meats and salads and sh*t. Back home that night, by 9.00 if we're lucky. Course the kids are all keyed up with new presents and sh*t, so its sleep by 1.00 if we're lucky.

Christmas eve we head to my Grandma on my moms side's house and eat then we open gifts there, then we head back to my house and we open gifts with my immediate family i.e ma pa and my younger brother Xmas day i either sleep most of it or watch tv all day or go to the movies yes my xmas time is boring to say the least.

Brits open their presents on Christmas Day.

Xmas Eve is spent either drinking or Midnight Mass. Both don't mix well.

May 2004 be better than this year.

This year, my routine is going to change. For the worse. Normally, I go to my folks a couple of days before and get drunk with my mates from round that way. On christmas eve, I get drunk and on Chrimbo day, I open my prezzies and stuff.

This year, I'm going to my folks as usual and then on boxing day, I'm going to my G/Fs folks (something I've managed to avoid at christmas for a couple of years) and I'll have to put up with them being assholes at me. "So why haven't you started your job yet?" and stuff like that.

Mind you, because the missus is with me over chrimbo eve and day, at least she gets out of midnight mass.

Actually, Christmas day means a lot of driving from one family barbecue to another. It's tiring, but fun.

All through my youth the family got together and opened presents on Christmas eve; now it changes with work schedules etc. Usually on holidays when we can all get together (meaning me, the two sisters, mom, and wife, plus the little girl) we get a poker game going, taking a break to do the actual holiday stuff, such as eating on Thanksgiving, opening presents on Christmas, taking the kids trick-or-treating on Halloween, etc. And I drink a lot.

Booze and gambling...that's a holiday!Image
