Doug,

I sent three videos to Peter. The one that is on the site, the slow driveby at the Lake George, NY car show, and a view from behind the wheel as the car is driving down the road. I don't know how to upload them on Peter's site. I didn't send Peter the fast driveby because of all the cursing that Charlie is doing on it as I drive by. Hopefully I make another one. ( Dave!!! ) Image

In regard to the one that is on the site, you can hear the zoomies and then the blower whine as the camera car passes me. The wind is a little loud, but you can make it out.

Wow, those vids are great. I'm glad, Charlie aside, that the driveby vid is up. That thing SCREAMS!!! I'm soooo jealous. I want one of my own!

Absolutely top notch, Mark! Kudos.

Thanks buddy. If it wasn't for all those damn cars, I would have been able to really get on it! Glad you enjoyed it..

stupid question, eh billy?

you're the one who's leaving behind the northern summer to spend six weeks in a melbourne winter, but i digress:

of course mark is very protective of his car (as he should be) but the mm1 25th anniversary celebrations could be rather large and his motor would be a fantastic centrepiece ---

i can see a special mm1 anniversary reprint being shown in the sydney opera house - with the local symphony orchestra bringing brian may's score to life in the pit beneath the screen - as part of sydney's annual summer festival ---

i can also conceive of warner bros hosting a party at their studio funpark in la, which might be a more convenient venue for both mel and the car! ---

then there could be '70s muscle car convoys along all the major routes used in the film, with corresponding tours through the US midwest and other geographically-similar sites god knows where else ---

it may seem like a lot of fuss for a small aussie film (and one i haven't watched for a while, i must admit) but not many films have been listed in the guinness book of world records, nor have many inspired millions of young boys to memorize whole swathes of dialogue that they still bounce off each other decades later... ---

i may be on the wrong forum now, but does anyone else have anniversary celebration ideas? ---

"aw, c'mon max, you've ... you've seen it, and ... you've heard it, and ... you're still asking questions?"

dadark1, I think you may have taken my genuinely 'stupid' question as me having a dig at you Image. ..I wasn't.

I asked the question as I wanted to know if there was anything happening to celebrate the anniversary whilst I'm in "Mad Max Melbourne" .for the record there is, which I wouldn't have known about had I not asked, after all isn't that one of the things we use the board for? to exchange info and views?.

I guess a more sensible and appropriate question to ask is what could us UK and Ireland based fans do to celebrate the anniversary?.

Thanks for the weather advice, silly me you'd think I know that it's winter then having only lived in the place for nearly 2 years Image
