In addition, the LA Film Critics Assoc. names MMFR runner up Best Picture behind 'Spotlight' and gave Seale Best Cinematography and Gibson Best Production Design. Sixel was runner up for Best Editing.

The Boston Film Critics Assoc. did the same. MMFR was their runner up to Spotlight for Best Picture. They also named Sixel for Best Editing.

All these accolades are almost a sure sign that MMFR will get a bunch of Oscar nominations. Technical nods for sure, but maybe Best Director and *gasp* Best Picture.

man, after this weekend I really really think George Miller has a realistic chance to win the Oscar for Best Director!

Fury Road will definitely get nominated for Best Film, but probably won't win
(I hate to say it: because of that boring 'Spotlight' film, that in total 100 people will see in cinemas  )

At least one notable film critic named MMFR best film of the year. Manohla Dargis of the New York Times.

And another one. Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair selected MMFR as best film of the year.
