To be fair, biolumen and kickherintheguts - don't get it twisted; this is a Mad Max film, through and through, possibly the best of the series (though it's still too early to say just yet) and if those those die-hard fans can get over certain nitpicky elements then it will prove even more rewarding, from that perspective.

But it is also a film by a filmmaker who's grown over his almost forty year career. And also, any complaints about the "pandering feminist content" of the film or how a female is one of the primary characters I personally find a little ridiculous because it's at least slightly indicative of a disturbingly pervasive, ultra-macho mindset that's become in vogue recently, that the film partly exists to ridicule in the first place. So, you know.

I think it's fair to say that the existing critical buzz is very, very positive. I think it's going to be a success, in that context.

I'll say this:
1. I've seen about half the trailers and it looks pretty damn good. My only real complaint from the trailers are the kids, which just brings back so many bad memories from Thunderdome. I'm not positive but I don't think the Fury Road kids can take the movie as far down as the Thunderdome kids did.
2. I'm not a George Miller fanboy, I don't think I've seen one movie he's directed since Thunderdome. I saw parts of Witches of Eastwick(not bad), and I saw Babe but he didn't direct the first one. I didn't get near Babe 2 but I remember Siskel and Ebert throwing Miller a bone naming it one of the best of the year. I honestly don't think Miller is all that great without Kennedy but I hope I'm wrong with Fury Road.
3. I don't know about you but I really don't know the plot of this movie all that well. Even though I follow this site and I've seen several trailers I've purposefully blotted what I've seen out of my mind. The coolest thing to me about what I've seen so far is a. the Gyrocaptain on Nux's car! b. Those thundersticks on Nux's car confounds me, at first there's 5 on the front, then 3 then those 3 cut in half I think..can't wait to see how that unfolds.
4. I don't really care about the feminist content, at least not now. I do understand we're in a different movie world now in 2015. Sure I wish everything was like it was back in the 80's but it's adapt or die right?
5. I hope Miller pulls off a miracle with Fury Road, I truly do.

I'll say this - the kids you see in the trailers aren't a central plot-point, at all. They're background.

Also - go out on a limb. Dude's made some pretty great movies that don't involve cars smashing into each other.

Correct.

I think maybe it's time to stop feeding the troll, there was one on here a while ago (I wont honour him by mentioning his name) and I suspect they are now back under a different name. Sounds like the same voice to me.

Agreed, I was thinking it was that guy from a while ago that was anti CGI and wanted everything to be "realistic', same language here too.

I'm usually an easy going guy and can tolerate a lot, but he's starting to get to me too.
