Ok... Peter Arcadiapane was a designer at Ford Australia. It was he who designed the nose cone and roof spoilers which was fitted to a custom XB Panelvan along with the boxy looking flares. At the time Peter also owned an XB coupe whih was black and was fitted with one of his nose cones. He also fitted one to an XB station wagon!

When the Mad Max filmmakers first approached him in 1977 to design a car for the shoot, he had no idea that he was going to be involved in the birth of a cinematic car legend.

"I assumed it would be just another car," he said modestly. "Nobody could have known just how successful Mad Max would become. They had seen either the original show car or one of the replicas I'd been building and approached me to build it on that basis."

Around the same time, Murray Smith was hired on as part of the Mad Max crew. One of his tasks was to put together the Interceptor, and he started by acquiring the XB Falcon mentioned above. Then Murray, along with Peter Arcadipane, Ray Beckerley, and various others, proceeded to modify the car to what was needed for the film. The main modification is obviously the Concorde front end, and the supercharger protruding through the bonnet (which is for looks only). The Concorde front was a fairly new accessory at the time, designed by Peter Arcadipane at Ford Australia as a showpiece, and later becoming available to the general public due to its popularity.
We are 100% snafu....
