I've been a bit busy, so I didn't mention that I bought the Leinenkugel berry weiss. What was weird was that the very first sip of the very first bottle(I didn't drink all 6 at once) tasted the most berry-ish. It seemed all subsequent drinkings gave me more of the beer taste. Maybe my pallate is just more sesitive to that taste or something.

The store I bought it at had the Blue Moon wheat ale. There was a shelf tag indicating there was a pumkin variety, but it had the wheat there instead.

I think next time I will try either an ale(most variety) or a double bock if available.

Arhhh The Riddle of Beer...it causes a "false sense of insensitivity"

A false sense of deafness...results in you wispering/talking/singing too loudly!

A false sense of blindness...results in you "gawking" at people or becomeing a "close talker".

A false sense of insensitivity....results in you telling all your friends/ workmates/ neighbours/pets that you love them... or ringing up ex-girlfriends at 4 in the morning.

A false sense of invulnerability...results in you getting your ass kicked.

Oh and of course a false sense of taste, which results in you trying to drink more to retrieve said taste and an increase in the aforementioned insensitivities!

Cam - a beer that'll make you skinny is Pure Blonde. http://www.cheapdrinks.com.au/content.aspx?ContentId=14

Emu Export Lager isn't too bad. Carlton Cold is the closest to my dad's homebrew that doesn't taste like brewery camel piss.Chopper Heavy is ok but the price tag is a bit of a steal http://www.chopperheavy.com/

Have just 4 days ago compared Budwieser(red label in case there's diff ones) to VB.....Bud was like dishwater, while the VB was plain old beer with a bitter aftertaste..who knew ?!

Ummm.. Why?

I mean, Most beers do taste better from the tap, but that'd pretty much lock you down to their Location.

Say you wish to drink at home, at friends' or on a picnic or whatever?

Yep, that`s the point. Better to travel around and try the local brew wherever u are, and the barman knows best how to pull a pint of the local bevy Image

It looks like that time again. :)

I think I'm going to try an ale this time. There is the most variety of these of all the non-big name beers.

Since the Boulevard Brewing Co. is a few blocks from where I work, I'm going to see if they sell on-site, and if they sell variety packs.

I have found out that there are non-hopp beers. They are derrogatorrally grouped in a class of alcoholic beverages known as alcopops. The 3 main ones are Zima, Smirnoff Ice, and Mike's Hard Lemonade. I've had a bottle of Zima in 1993. To me, it tasted like Tang if you didn't mix enough with the water.

ydx, look into whether or not they sell 64 oz jugs, or "growlers", and after the first purchase, most of them will refill the jugs for $6-10. Of course, make sure you like the stuff before buying half a gallon. You can usually get a free taste.

There also seems to be a courtesy among brewpubs--they'll fill another place's jug for the same rate. Like the bartender told me at my usual spot, "I'm still selling beer, no matter what it leaves in".
