Looks like Miller's next movie may have been co-written by McCarthy.
Nrama: What all do you have coming up, in comics and in other media?

McCarthy: There will be some very interesting news coming up soon on the comic front, which I can't talk about right now. I also have written a new movie with George Miller and hopefully, it'll get made in a shorter time frame than Fury Road – which took about 18 years!

Something's telling me that it's the new Mad Max he's talking about. Here's why:

McCarthy is an artist first and yet one of the very few people qualified enough to actually write a story for Mad Max. That's how he got the job on Fury Road, in fact that's why he coined it - he was brought in to do some work on a Mad Max TV show with a female "Xena Warrior Princess" road warrior and he wanted to make a real Mad Max movie instead and that's how we got it. He is the man for the job.

Also, after finishing writing the 2/3 of Fury Road story he left the project and had absolutely no involvement since, until he watched the movie in 2015 upon release. I think if there was any reason to bring McCarthy back after all this time to write something with Miller would be to do some more Max stories.

Obviously I could be absolutely 100% wrong on all this, but I don't see why else he would've been brought back in. I can't remember if he was involved in any other Miller movies since, not like Sexton for example that does a whole lot of conceptual work for Miller all the time.

McCarthy had previously confirmed that while he was working on the MMFR script at KMM, he had also written an animated movie for Miller called "Fur Brigade" that was to be made at some point. With the demise if Dr. D Studios and the box office failure of HF2, so went the chances for Fur Brigade, presumably, so who knows. Maybe it's something else entirely.

I thought the MMFR sequel was written with Nico while McCarthy was still out of the loop.

I was purely speculating :)

I think you're right, Mark came out saying this movie is something Miller and McCarthy wrote when Mark was still finishing up storyboarding for Fury Road.

This adds up to your story, it might be Fur Brigade

Any news on Miller's next film, I can't wait! Today's Golden Globes nominations reminded me of how much fun FURY ROAD'S nominations were last year! But this year there's not one film I give a shit about. I'd love to see George Miller back in the mix! :D

Yeah last year was pretty exciting.
Man, I was so happy when it got 10 Oscar nominations.
Looking back it's still unbelievable how many awards and prices FURY ROAD won.

No George around this time,
this year I have to go for Mel and 'Hacksaw Ridge'

Yeah, I'm happy for Mel too, but it's not the same.
