90% of people filed out straight after the live demonstration.
Those of us who stayed behind another 10 mins were rewarded by them letting us near the cars.
Great day. Seemed to be a better live demonstration around 8am when all main cars moved including the rebuilt interceptor. I have a lot of video and pics including the 8am demonstration.

A lot of people filed out after the demonstration because the area was chained off a little while. As far as I could see it was just for safety - a lot of the engines were exposed to some extent, and they'd just fired them all up in the demonstration, so they would be a little hot to the touch. I think they were just letting them cool down again before letting anyone too near.

They also opened up the Gigahorse cab after the demo (which wasn't available during the morning that I saw), I hope some on here got pics of that. I lined up for it - I was front of the line when they decided to clear the area, and security wouldn't let me go up! D'oh!

Would you believe when I walked up the stairs to film the inside of the Gigahorse cabin my batteries ran out , got some shaky video from my other cam but the detail inside these cars was awesome , cant believe how well behaved the crowd was as well the security guys were happy lol
Lots of folk complained about the traffic snarl the filming caused , I had an excellent possie up on the Cahill til security moved me on sat up there for 3 hours just to see another War Rig go past on the back of a truck

I don't know how you got so close I waited around until 2:30pm, and the staff said they wouldn't let anyone near the cars for insurance reasons.

Should of waited another 20 mins it was very cool , just missed out on getting Nathan Jones's autograph as well

why would I wait when the staff emphatically said "NO, NOT GONNA HAPPEN".

That just screams poor communication and poor PR. Not impressed in the slightest.

Yeh they were a bit cagey about letting info go that meathead near the entrance moving everyone on trying to get pics was ordinary , they did announce that they were going to let people in for a closer look , then about 10 minutes after that they moved all the bollards away and it was open slather
