New Hardy quote.
They’ve shown me these new Police Interceptors and other cars they have in Australia for the new [Mad Max] movie, and they’ve shown me a collection of these monster rigs — Chevys and trucks with all these things welded to them — huge pipes and skulls and black paint — every crazy idea that George Miller’s design people could come up with for petrolheads who were into Mad Max. Truly magnificent beasts, all of them. If you love cars and you love that world, I think that’s going to be the most exciting movie ever when that comes out.”

How funny that those idiots at the Orlando Sentinel chose to illustrate the article with a pic of a concept car that's not going to be in the film.

I think Tom Hardy is a great actor and perfect for the role but... I hate reading stuff like this.
“I’m sponsored by Audi. I’m not gonna lie. I can’t drive to save my life. OK, not entirely true. I learned to drive just three-four years ago... Yes, he knows that as that release date approaches, he’s going to be asked to be on “Top Gear,”

“Yeah, they’ve already asked. Funny you should mention that. They want me to come and do their ‘lap.’ But I can only drive automatics. And I can only drive Audis. I don’t think Jeremy Clarkson (one of the hosts of the show) would go for that. But he does rather like Audis, doesn’t he? (He does. A sucker for German cars). ”

It doesn't really mean anything when they use stunt drivers for 90% of the movie. Some of the shit Mel did with the Interceptor in the first 5 minutes of Road Warrior should have dropped the transmission.

He down shifted for power, then upshifted before he hit the worlds only switchable supercharger.
If you mean the rear wheel lock up? I'd say that was done with the hand brake. How they did it I don't know, as the handbrakes are dash mounted, and leaning forward to put it on you don't get the quickness or force of the a centre mounted one, at least not in my XB (yeah I tried it...several times).
Still, it is a movie.

Kinda strange though for a 'method' actor - a guy that's prepared to physically bulk up to "live the role" and then aggressively trim down for his next film.

OK - he may not be a petrol-head but surely if he wants to walk in the shoes of the Max character don't you think he'd at least ... learn a manual.

Where is Steve McQueen when you need him...?

Handbrake or bootlegger turns in a falcon require practice and acts of faith. Buy a pano and then do one, you rub bloody rabbits feet and crucifixes before having a go. Its even worse in a P76 as the handbrake is between the seat and the door.

Ive lunched trannies, you know youre in trouble when the smoke starts drifting into the cabin from your trans!

Interesting pic's so far. Good to get rumours going, that's for sure!

Actually not the world's only switchable supercharger. There is one other;
